Everton Post Match Thread

Spending the money we have does not give us the right to win, it gives us the right to compete. We are competing in every competition and that's good. Tonight was cold, damp and boring for long periods. The journey down the M56 was an absolute bloody nightmare. Still, as Senor Pelligrini says, "if you can't win don't lose" and over the years we have lost so many matches like that. Not great, but still in the mix.

Objectivity and reason have abandoned this place long ago @Rodney i fear your words will not be heard but they should.
Not great but not terrible, just par for the course this season imo really.

Aye, you're right = by the strict laws of the game it was a foul therefore a pen., but there's the spirit of the game too and because he went looking for it I'm not sorry it wasn't given. Excuse me for being so Corinthian, there's still a few of us left.

Just a few, there are 659 million of you fcukers!

Looks like another chance to play a fun game of moron, rag or wum.

Sorry to say but it seems you never have played the game. Otherwise you would know that Sterling easily would have kept the ball on the line with his left foot. Stones simply was too late and took a slide. Like the Sheffield player against Rooney last Sat in the 92nd minute. It didn't end up 0-0 by the way.

I thought we were piss first half but I thought we were pretty good 2nd half & unlucky not to win even before the pen, which was beyond a fucking joke.

Some of our defending first half was beyond a joke but I thought 2nd half was the best Otamendi has played for us & he showed signs that he might be coming to terms with the Prem. Demi was comical 1st half but he too looked a bit more like his old self 2nd half. He is really on the limit though.

We pushed right up a bit Pep style 2nd half & Everton struggled to cope. But as a team, we are disfunctional. Even when dominating completely, there were so many poor decisions & missed opportunities for runs passes etc. Where I'm sat, I can see what Navas & DeBruyne were looking at when they got the ball 2nd half & basically it's 10 Everton shirts. There is nobody to pass to, at all. They can't cross in the air so they have to try & push it through playrrs legs, but Aguero is nowhere to be seen in that area anyway & he is the only bloke in there.

Sagna put in a beauty of a cross, head height & an Everton pkayer headed it over the bar with no City player anywhere to be seen. It would have been food & drink for the Goat, a simple goal. A typical Championship team would score it 9 times out of 10. We had nobody there.

Even during what I thought was a good 2nd half, there were so many things wrong, we are nowhere near what we could be. Not even 50%.

Your first and last sentences sum up the night for me.
