All season, we haven't done enough to earn the right to be top of the table for anywhere near long enough. All the reasons why have been discussed but right now they are irrelevant.

This fixture is a microcosm of our entire season in terms of the title.

A long, hard, tough fight which has really stretched us. However out of sheer stubborness and a little bit of luck over the past week we have one final shot. One final chance to land a knock out blow which we have failed to do all season.

One game of 90 minutes against our toughest opponent over the past few years at the toughest venue.

Conclusion being - we really have to earn this. And if we go and win which I believe we will, we will have really earned it the hard way. And in my opinion, will close the next two games out and win the title for the 2nd time in 3 years.

It will take the most disciplined, mentally strong, assured, composed yet clinical performance of the season. I think we are ready for it.

Is your name Churchill ? ;-)

never...

yet another HUGE game - funny that not that long back West Ham at home in the quarter finals of the FA Cup was our biggest game of the season............now it seems every week brings yet another huge one.

Biggest game of the season yet...............until Villa!

Come on blues.

Anyone else think you get a good indication of what the result will be watching the lads line up in the tunnel? Took one look at them lining up for Palace and I really did begin to believe again........

getting right in the mood for winning the title now, can't wait.

wanted to say 0 - 3 , but typed 1 - 3 ??

come on City

Who has that GIF of that chap clapping in the audience...

@RobDawsonMEN: Manuel Pellegrini confirms only Navas and Nastasic unavailable to play against Everton on Saturday. David Silva is fit.

He is!!!!

@MCFC: PELLEGRINI ON INJURIES: Nastasic is working with the squad, he’s not able in this moment to play, but he’s not injured anymore. #mcfc

Another awesome news!

Does anybody out there remember the walk/ escort from Lime Street in the 80s?? The Dibble used to try and get you on them green buses?? It makes me chuckle seeing these young Stone Island / Burberry clad kids at the match these days imaging them having to do that walk from Lime Street??!!! Always remember that inspector with his swagger stick!! And that's a copper!!! The police were more racist than the Everton fans!! How different the "Matchday Expirience" is today!!!! Never had any trouble with Liverpool but Everton that was a whole different ball game!!!! Always looked upon Everton to Liverpool as City were to United, with their core fans being local and in the shadow of their more illustrious neighbours whose fans are scattered around the country and picked to support depending on trophies won and glory!! How times change?? For us anyway, being the best team in our City now. I suppose I have a bit of a soft spot for Everton I definitely have respect for their fans as they would be at the top of my list of who deserves some big time oil rich owner, I never liked Uncle Stanley though!!!! C MON CITY!!

If this is true, then it's truly amazing news.
That means: Vinny, fully fit; Sergio, fully fit; Yaya, fully fit;and now Merlin. Now we all know that that's the spine of the team, however good anyone else is. Someone claimed earlier in this thread that we hadn't been able to play our clear first-choice starting eleven since November. That sounds plausible to me, but can anyone confirm?

Fantastic news regarding Merlin, I feel a lot calmer now although I'm just as nervous as I was before the Newcastle game 2012.

What is the latest regarding injuries in the Everton camp?

I think that sounds about right. We've got no excuse tomorrow, agaisnt a weakened Everton side. Been so many ups and downs this season, wouldn't it be good if we where 3-0 at half time, no worries. Come on city!!!!!
