He's a poor man's Nicky Maynard.
Why is everyone already saying that Beckford is not good enough for the Premier League etc. Does anyone not remember Tim Cahill? Where did he come from? As well as countless other players, we can't ride him until he plays. For me, i think this is a decent deal provides some back up to Saha and Yak.

Tim Cahill tbf was a gem of a signing but how often do they come about? also Cahill is a midfielder, Beckfords a striker so the pressure is on him more being in that position.

Thats true, theres more chance he flops then becomes a gem in all honesty but people can't just write him off as a failure before he has even kicked a ball for Everton.

Well i think the problem is he's 27 next and he's only just getting a crack at the prem. Fans look at that and think why now at this age?
