They made a club statement recently:

Going to be absolute class, the stadium and the setting where it is.

Will surely be one of the best setting for any ground in Europe?
Remember going to Forest in the late 60s, and the local coppers stopping us going in the Trent End as we outnumbered the home fans! It's not the first time a football club has been situated next to a river.
And the Trent is longer than the Mersey.

When is your new stadium due to be ready?

The sooner you can move away from those wankers across Stanley Park, IMHO.
it's been recommended for approval by the council. possibly agreed by a planning committee at end of month, along with the legacy proposals for goodison. all being well the hope is for it to be completed in time for the 24/25 season.

This move will transform Everton. They need to put their past history behind them (great though much of it is) and move forward. I loved Maine Road as much as anyone but leaving there was the best thing ever for City. It actually felt like we had ditched a lot of negative baggage. I remember the first match at the City of Manchester Stadium and watching City beating Barca in a pre-season friendly with the sun shining. I just thought...wow. We have never looked back.
