Everton Thread - 2021/22

Potter has another four or five years where all he needs to do is avoid relegation and take the occasional point off Palace. His problems will start when the club are established in the PL and fans want to progress. - See Charlton Athletic.
He'd be expected to achieve more at Everton, and in a shorter timescale. And he'd have less influence in the running of the clubs than he has at Brighton.

Potter is a good manager but he would need a lot of time and transfer windows to turn them round.
Everton may be suffering from the same problem that plagues the rags, namely their owner and the board are focussed on something other than football excellence.
In the rags case it is personal enrichment that is the goal. But in Everton's, I am at a loss to work out just what their owner wants. He took control in murky circumstances and has spent a lot of money, but where is the strategy? What is the vision? Are they banking on the new stadium transforming the club?
Anyone got a clue?
