Everton Thread - 2022/23

Looking at those, you'd have to say Everton have a chance if they can get a result against Leicester. Leeds and Leicester all have tougher games still.
A couple of weeks ago I said in the "relegation " thread that it would be other clubs fixtures that would save Everton
However, if they lose vs Leicester they are really staring at relegation
Everton are struggling to score and Leicester seems to have found its shooting boots

Wolves and Bournemouth are the games they need to win, but who knows where their heads will be if they lose the next three

All of those 5 apart from Leicester have 3 away games and only 2 home games.
Leeds have 3 of the top 6 left to play, so that could be tough for them. Leicester also have fairly tough fixtures. I think much will depend on if Everton can beat Leicester.

Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, relegation could well be good for them like it was for us.

A complete reset, get rid of the dross and cancer in that club and start again.

With the new stadium and fresh momentum you could come back better and stronger.

This totally.

Promotion is brilliant for bringing positivity back into the stadium. All they've done for probably 20 years is stagnate and that wears down the fans.

They'd just need to make sure they all stick with the team and get behind them in the Championship, because you don't want to have more than one or two seasons down there.

As I live in Merseyside nowadays I feel for them, I’ve always felt we were kindred kind of clubs, and Everton is a scouse club with a fairly normal fan base, but I think that whilst it will be painful relegation may be the best thing that happens to them, the club needs a complete overhaul

Where as i agree with you, the club have to get a lot of decisions right to bounce back and with evertons hierarchy thats not a given. Fat from it.

You need to be back the next season, otherwise you get dragged into ‘the division’, full of clubs scrapping to get out
A lot of the decisions will be made for them, the financial hit will be enormous and I would expect you to be taken over, possibly even go bankrupt and then return .

Survival would be a disaster, papering over the cracks yet again and yet another survival mission next season.

This needs sorting properly from top to bottom and once a huge club like this gets momentum it takes some stopping.

Yep agree with this problem is, is there finances and like I’ve post earlier if they don’t bounce straight back they will be in the same shit we were in on the brink of admin..

I worry for them if they go down. They could end up like Coventry or Sheffield Wednesday & it took Leeds 17 years to return to the promised land.

Yeah, true. Promotion seasons are brilliant, the best memories you can get in football outside of winning trophies - possibly even better in some ways. But failing to get promotion, especially when you half expect it, leads to a lot of negativity.

Staying mid-table forever gives you nothing but apathy. Given the choice I'd take a relegation and the hope of an exciting season.

The money side of things is potentially a different thing and a major concern, agreed.
