Moyes fucking hell there has to be better options, they were a awful team to play,

Agreed.

Dyche would have kept them in the league 100%, He's been keeping a really poor group of players in the league the last few seasons and done well by doing that.

I genuinely think there's a big chance of them being relegated now.

The fans have got Ronald Koeman and Marco Silva out the door in previous seasons too, So what exactly do they want?

Anything above 18th place is good for them with the squad of players they have and the financial situation they find themselves in.
Koeman was utter gash, Silva and even Martinez we were stupid to get rid of so readily. The managers that we could possibly attract we can't - apart from a new stadium we have little to offer generally. There's 2 relegation places possibly and this could be the season we go. I don't
Has big Dunc not had a mention yet?
This is one of my favourite and funniest photos in football.

Strangling Freund - I was at that game. Have that photo signed by the man himself

What do you make of Sean Dyche been sacked?

What's really going to change with a new manager coming in, You'd know more than me with being an Everton, I take it the same applies to the new boss as in working on a next to nothing budget with loan deals and free transfers?
I think regardless of this season he was never getting another contract. He did a fair job initially but we needed to kick on and aim for 17th !
It's a hard one, you want your club to prosper but sacking managers constantly doesn't engender confidence to someone coming in. Do they just give it a go as it's a payday with no real long term commitment or do we just keep the likes of Baines/Coleman who already have a link to the club.

It’s just brilliant. The anger on his face.

Imagine being a burglar and targeting his house? Funny quote: when did you stop hitting them?

When they stopped moving. lol!!!

I'm not having a dig at Everton, I genuinely believe Dyche done a really good job keeping them in the Premier League, The squad that Everton have is nothing other than a squad that needs to survive in the league.

Obviously Everton fans want their club to kick on and finish higher up the table and challenge for trophies, Not sure that's possible with absolutely no budget for transfers.

Really poor timing to sack him too in my opinion, I thought they'd give him until the end of the season.

Now they could find themselves in trouble.

United were never getting relegated.
If it weren't for the fact that apart from ipswich they've all already changed managers, I would have put money on one of those clubs bringing in Dyche and have him save them at Evertons expense, can't see ipswich getting rid of their manager but that would be poetic justice.
Don’t let that performance v scouse fool you. United are in a relegation scrap. No two ways about it.

Why? We’ve been there. Villa, Leeds etc. They have no divine right to be a prem club and, if truth be told, it could be what they need. Look at Villa now.

Its just something I think, it feels like a thread of English football history

I get that others might not think this..

I'm only speculating but with the timing and statement put out it's reasonable to suggest there's more to this than we know. Was he pushed, did he walk?
It's why I don't think any decent manager would be rushing to be interviewed. Coleman and Baines I'd give them till the end of the season, see what happens. Stability if only for a few months is needed

Exactly. No one has a divine right to be in the top flight, simply on the basis that they've been in there for decades. It's what you do on the pitch that counts. Look at Wolves; they were arguably THE team in England back in the early fifties. Since then, I think they've been all the way down to the real fourth division. @Wanderingwolf? Or Huddersfield back in the 1930s under Herbert Chapman. Despite what the rags, dips and tarqs might argue it's what you're doing now that governs what division you play in, not what you did 20/30/40 years ago.

There is definitely more to this than we know.

Yes,in principle I agree.

But with Everton and Arsenal you have to look at events in their long histories. Last day of the season Everton v Wimbledon.hans Segers in goal. Beaten by a 35 yard shot from an Everton midfielder who is not known for his goal scoring abilities..Barry horne iirc..

Wimbledons top scorer John Fashanu announced himself injured for this particular match and watched proceedings very closely ( it was a nothing match for wimbledon).....suited and booted on the Wimbledon
bench,next to the manager.

The grobelaar segers Fashanu court case springs to mind.

Arsenal ? Weren't they supposed to he relegated in 1900 or something but paid cash to ensure other league chairmen voted so spurs would not be promoted and take their place I can't remember the full story ,others on here will know the full facts ,save to say rivalry between the two teams goes back a long way.

So yes, events on the pitch do matter, but when it comes to the crunch, cash deals off the pitch .....cannot be ignored.

I didn't watch it so it hasn't. They're 7 points clear of the relegation zone, it is highly likely they'll improve in the second half of the season but even if they don't, Ipswich aren't making 8 points up on them as well as the others below them bettering their tally. Its not about how bad united are, its how inept the teams below are.

I dont

The man’s a dinosaur of a manager
When Burnley were relegated early on in his tenure, the board asked him how to spend the extra PL money, expecting him to specify players. He said that they had the players to come back up and the money should be spent on improvements to the dressing room and other facilities.
Burnley came straight back up.
Hardly the action of a dinosaur.

I like Dyche, sorry to see him go. He may well reemerge at OT in March when they need a good old fashioned no nonsense manager to replace their latest hopeless incumbent as the prospect of relegation looms large

100%. You don't sack a manager 3 hours before a game, no matter how badly you want him out. That and the wording of the statement point to a massive bust up behind the scenes.
Maybe some know-all Yank went a bit
too far in telling him what to do. Then it developed into a huge bust up with Dyche telling them to 'Fcuk it, I'll go now if that's what you want - show me the money'. Like or loathe the guy, I wouldn't want to argue with him.

maybe they told him to cut out the smoking and just wouldnt believe him when he told them he wasnt on 40 a day and it all went downhill from there
