Goodison still being used for Women’s team though

Wish we could have done same with Maine Rd
Yeah, I'd heard that. But what attendances do their women get; 5-10k? It's perfect for that usage. As for Maine Road; yeah, it's a shame it isn't around any more. It would have been great if it could have been saved, to be used by the community around Moss Side and South Manchester. But I guess the money the club got for it was useful when fitting out the new stadium. I don't think the women's team even existed back in the early noughties, did it?

It couldn’t be done, as part of the deal was for Maine Road to be taken over by MCC and turned into housing.

That’s why the deal was so favourable for us.
I know the politics of it and we are where we are because of this especially with Sheikh Mansour

But would have loved it to have carried on

Fair play to Everton for keeping Goodison going

The area around Maine Rd is a shithole with very little or any thriving businesses now

It’s mad how fixtures for occasions like this pan out, Southampton were our last opponents at Maine Road…….where typical of us we were beaten of course
That thought just crossed my mind. Wonder if history will repeat itself with the score.

Bit of bollocks about the last match as the stadium is not being demolished.

What is to stop them playing pre-season games or even normal games there again?
Err, a state of the art multi million pound brand new stadium? That will more than likely stop them.

It’s the last game there for the men’s team now they’ve given it to the wimmin.

We’ve been there, it’s an awful but exciting feeling.

I think it’s very likely they’ll knock most of the stands down. No point spending money maintaining old infrastructure for sentimental reasons when they only need a 5,000 - 10,000 seat stadium for the women’s team.

Clubs are missing out on a bargain if they don’t bring in Ndiaye soon. He’ll be a world-beater.

They are going to cut the capacity to just over 3,000 it'll be like dragging a kitbag down the M1.

How do you cut the capacity from 50,000 to 3,000 it's hilarious :)
