Everton Thread | 2024/25

Very emotional, but good and enjoyable as well. A nice way to see us out. I will miss the place, but we needed to move. I have many great memories of the place, football, family and friends. Nice to know I can go along and see the ladies play there as well now.
Great selling point for the women's team to be fair - glad it had a good send off............ :-)

We watched all the post match this afternoon, and even as a City supporter I was full of respect for the emotion on show. I thought it was a well done event.

As an aside it was great to see the likes Brian Kidd there, and of course Joe, along with some players connected with both clubs.

I never got chance to go, but having been to watch Everton City at Walton this season, I’m really looking forward to going to see the women’s game there next time round. Off to your new home in Nov for rugby league too.

So good they are keeping GP for the ladies. I shall go a few games.

From my experience of leaving Maine Road, it will take a while for the new stadium to feel like home.
As well as a new stadium different place to park, maybe different pre match watering hole, different journey to and from the match etc.
Went to Goodison a few times back in the day, proper old school ground but like you said, you need the move.
Watched some of the post match send off today which was very classy and seeing some of the old players brought back a lot of memories.

Good atmosphere there today. People in a great mood.

We are not our rancid neighbours
Met a top toffee from Canada on a Cunard cruise to the North Cape. He is the husband of the sister of my wife's long time friend. He has two season tickets that he leaves with relatives in Liverpool whilst he is at home in Toronto.

I was pleased as punch for him as he was over for the last match.

At least Everton fans can go back and see their stadium if nostalgia hits, all City fans get is the chance to hang around outside someone else’s house stood on a pretend roundabout :)

Very true.
I live on the North side of town so don't get chance to pass these days.
Drove past a few years ago and hardly anything left to show we played there for 80 years.

Beautifully done last day for the men's team at Goodison. So much emotion understandably. My best mate was there and he told me that the violinist playing Z Cars was very emotional. I'm so glad that they are keeping Goodison for the women's team.
