Everton Time

Something I've been wondering for a good while now and perhaps one of the decent Everton posters like Shackattack can give us an idea - where does the money Everton earn from gate receipts, TV rights, etc go to? They pay modest wages and get decent crowds yet the likes of Stoke are spending far more money while maintaining a decent balance sheet, despite getting lower attendances and surely pulling in less income overall than Everton. Is there some mysterious black hole in Kenwright's office that salts away most of the cash? Or is it more straightforward than that and they've got high interest loans outstanding?

where does our money go??? depends on who you believe really. some will say kenwright etc pocket it,but not too sure. the liverpool echo apparently had some interesting facts on the financial situation, they were then accused by the club itself of scaremongering, whilst fans themselves said they did not go far enough. the board itself will not sanction funds for transfers as to do so will threaten the existence of the club which is prudent housekeeping some will say. but you have to speculate to accumulate so there is no balance.
so until an investor offers to buy out the blue holdings group its stalemate. last person allegedly interested was paul gregg seven yrs ago ffs. so we sell to survive in essence, and thats our finance in a nutshell. rumours that we are selling our stadium naming rights to cash convertors or poundland have been denied by the club !!

kenwrights valuation is too high, potential investor refuses to meet it. or its just the dire situation we are in financially and he is refusing to spend money we clearly do not have to protect the short term future of the club. the recent stadium move to kirkby was a puzzling one in which not one person i knew voted yes, yet the ballot approved it. government then declined it and there was no other plan. sums us up really. mind you, look at leeds and west ham as examples of a way to cripple a club financially, so maybe kenwright has brought a stability to the club, but is not the man to take the club forward.

I'm not Everton's biggest fan but they're in a dire state of affairs - how they've avoided relegation over the years is beyond - speaks volumes for Moyes ability as a manager.

Definitely. He's a very good Manager with limited resources and his loyalty to Everton is admirable considering how little he gets to work with.

Does anyone else think they're heading backwards under Moyes, and that they just can't see it through that ugly fringe of sentiment that hangs over their sensible eyes?

not too sure we are heading backwards, treading stagnant water maybe. moyes has done well on very limited funds, but like kenwright is not the manager to move the club forward. no competition amongst the first team breeds complacency, add this to our usual poor start and the one or two inevitable injuries and we will struggle. and we wait and watch sunderland, stoke, and bolton dapple in the transfer market.

Hilarious!! Never really had much time for Everton though tbh.

Although, to be fair, they have still done quite well without signing anyone, finshing in the top half and beating us and Chelsea.
