Ewood Park 25th Anniversary 7/05/2000

Bought tkts off doorstaff at pub bout 15mins before KO. Managed to knock them down from £100 each to £250 for 3. Was heading for the hill at this point. Wasnt looking great at HT but Horlock fed the Goat, Christian Dailly made up for not signing for us a few years earlier and up we went.

Possibly one of the best days ever at a City game. The day was carnage from start to finish and I'll never forget the scenes of the City team coach crawling past the Fernhurst......mayhem !
We were in the Jack Walker lower surrounded by loads of other blues and ended the night dancing on tables in some pub in Bury that I can't remember the name of.
What a day, support was off the clock. Nothing comes even close now for raw emotion, which is a shame.

I watched it in Copper Faced Jacks in town ( don't think it is there anymore).
Wasn't really packed so there was loads of room, I remember doing so kind of mad walk/dance around the pub when we scored the third, (in fact I have this vision in my head of the Kevin and Perry episode when they was pretending to be Mancs and Perry doing a Liam walk)

Then it was into Albert Square and I actually bumped into @ancoats during the celebrations but back then my name was Lee and his name was Ste :)

Great day.

Great day.

I was in the fountain dancing and it was in a book about City

Great days and Lee is a very good friend from Whitefield and our little gang of blues from Hillock estate

An epic day and an epic game. For any cunts who think we don't have fans, they should watch that game to see our takeover of Ewood Park.

I was wondering after Ipswich got back-to-back promotions, how often it's happened from third tier to top tier before?
Didn't Leicester City do back to back promotions in 12/13 and 13/14

Watford, us, Norwich, Southampton and now Ipswich.

Interestingly we did it the season after Watford and Southampton did it the season after Norwich...so put your money on one of the promoted sides from League 1 to do it next year!

We were further up the hill at the golden cup when the coach went past

The back emergency doors opened and pollock jumped out and was carried on fans shoulders into the pub

I’m pretty sure the coach just carried on as well

Strong lads

My money is on Birmingham
Have been saying this for weeks. Having spoken to opposition fans who watched them this season (Lincoln, Mansfield) they said BCFC were on another planet to anything they’d ever seen in that division. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them in the PL in 2026-27.

I definitely did not expect us to go up again in 2000. Thought mid table would be our level. I think we beat Sheffield United by a big margin early on and we looked like contenders and tbf we were there or there abouts all season.

It was a hugely enjoyable season overall. Not quite as good as under Keegan two years later, but still (for me) a pre-takeover favourite.

And not sure how to feel about it being a quarter of a century ago!

Watched it on the hill.
Got in near the end.
We were that pissed ended up in the top tier behind the goal opposite the city end
Climbed back out and back into the bottom tier so we get on the pitch.
What a time to be a blue great days

I think Southampton have done it as well

Midland Hotel that night was fun. Word got around that that was where the players were. Must've been a hundred or so fans outside and the police ended up blocking the road off. Some of the players came out onto a little first floor balcony and were loving it. Special memories.
