My Dad can't attend the first game so sold his on viagogo for £25.

How did he manage that? The cheapest I could sell a £44 ticket for was £39.60. Even my stepson (18-21 concession) could only sell for that price.

I've had to sell four tickets on Viagogo as it's impossible coming down from Edinburgh with the wife, stepson and a nine-year-old as we all work and the wee man has school the next day. I tried to justify the journey but it just isn't possible. I would love to be able to sell my seats to someone but don't fancy sending my cards to someone I don't know in the hope nothing goes wrong. Even if this was an option I'm still waiting for one of the cards to arrive!

Viagogo's my only option this time. I'd rather sell this way than have four seats empty in block 308... what would the naesayers say?

Incidentally I sold at the lowest possible price (£39.60) but after Viagogo charge their fees those tickets are circa £51. I'd rather any proper system than this but it doesn't exist at the moment.

but given there's so many games where the God seats on the third tier are empty, not to mention the corporate seats in the CB, I don't think it'll be too great an issue. And with these additional seats, about 6000 in all, the impact of raising the other end is mitigated.

That's just not true. We have sold out every home league game except one(dead rubber end of season Wigan game) in the last two and a half seasons.
Allegedly. The only home game I didn't attend last season was against Chelsea and I can tell you we had a full stadium on a handful of occasions; the derby, both Merseyside games, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. All the rest had seats available either at the back of the third tier, around the away supporters end and in the corporate section. There were at least two televised games where the East Stand had a full third tier, but the opposite side was pretty light on numbers.

Also, I forgot to point out that if the building work reduced our capacity by, say, 10,000 seats, we'd be able to reduce our away supporter ticket allocation by 1500 seats, so that would mean we'd only need to rehome 8500 of the home support and I'd expect the club to have moved ST holders as a matter of course.

Although, having gone over that, I can't really figure out what this has to do with memberships or Viagogo...

Matters not, they were still sell outs with no tickets available. Whether or not people take up their seat makes no odds. There were no tickets available.

Do we get new membership cards or use last seasons once we have renewed.

We get new cards, don't know when though as we are getting paper tickets for Hull

There'll be new ones. But they won't be out in time for the start of the season, so you'll get paper tickets for the time being. I bought a ticket for the Hull game and the paper ticket arrived this week, even though I renewed my membership several weeks ago.

I do find it somewhat disheartening that any fan simply accepts that MCFC now allows their fellow fans to be charged well above face value.

In fact I find it more than disheartening I find it distasteful.

People whine and moan about the price of pies and burgers (and no doubt often refuse to pay the prices because they have that option) and no doubt many of them are simply saying that you should allow Viagogo to do what they do because of 'market forces'.

Alas there is no market is there? There is no club backed alternative that fans can use. Once a ticket it sold on Viagogo it ends up more expensive because of fees.

The club have entered into a 'partnership' that also allows that sale of of tickets ABOVE FACE VALUE.

UK law means it is illegal for tickets to be sold ABOVE FACE VALUE without the consent of the venue (MCFC). Those laws were introduced to rid football, and sport in general, of ticket touts.

Of course back in the days when we all hated touts, and the ground swell of support meant that laws were brought in, there was far more solidarity amongst City fans.

It seems that not only has the club done the wrong thing but many fans are saying 'fuck you jack I'm alright' to other fans who are being priced out of the chance to watch City by other greedy, profiteering, touting fans.

So well done you money grabbing plebs enjoy all the 'plastic tourists' you will be at the ground with as the club becomes what so many of you complain about.

Dry your eyes mate.

At each home game there are thousands of empty seats when people can't attend for whatever reason, I'd far rather be sat next to a "plastic" on blue membership than an empty seat. I'd prefer a ticket exchange system like the old days where there are no £15 extra charges but City in partnership with viagogo is well well down the list of things I give a fuck about.

And as we speak, the Newcastle and Hull games haven't sold out so no one needs to pay above face value for either. Though I notice to fail to acknowledge your previous hyperbole when posting about the price of tickets on viagogo in light of the screen shots I posted of the cost of tickets.
