There have been so many games over the last 10 years when I thought we could or would score 10 goals and it's finally arrived with basically an academy team second half today.

I thought it was an excellent performance from the lads.

Pep's team selection was spot on; an excellent mix of experienced professionals and Academy prospects wanting to make a good impression.

And it was great to see that we were on it from the start. Scoring the early goal certainly helped settle the nerves. It was a lovely moment for young Max to score his first senior goal for the club and nice to see that Rodri can still produce a thunderbastard.

I was delighted for Rico that he not only got two goals, but that he wore the captain's armband for a while. It’s brilliant to see Academy players making it to the top at their boyhood club.

It was great to make double figures for the first time in just over 38 years. Have any other clubs done it in a shorter period?

A lower league team in the next round would be nice.

For a mid table League One side I thought Exeter would be a bit better than that. Pleased for the lad who scored their screamer though.

Has to be one of the worst performances ever turned in at the Etihad.

We didn’t even play particularly good football, you could see Pep wasn’t thrilled with the first half performance, Exeter just didn’t defend. The keeper is their POTY apparently!

Lovely to see the academy lads get their moment, but I think 10 goals from 10 shots on target with an xG around 2 shows the story of the game.

A lot more fun to watch than starting with 7 academy kids and bringing the big guns on when it’s 2-1 after 70 mins.
