Exeter City (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

True, but easy to say with hindsight. You never know with these matches, Macc are 3 divisions lower (and around the same position in their league) but still put Palace out.
I did say it pre-match as well in my defence. Feel it is a very different situation when you're at home to going to a tiny little away ground.

That challenge on Cherki first half looked the most obvious pen you will ever see.

VAR does have it's uses because the ref thought not so not given today.

Obviously didn't matter but just flagging it up.
I put in the matchday thread, the German commentator on the coverage I was watching, said something along the lines of, "I can’t believe that Cherki fell over due to the strength of the wind".

I was saying to my mate coming home from the match…
“There can’t be too many who’ve seen City win 10-1 twice”.
I reckon between 8-10k allowing for people passing on, moving away or not going anymore. There were only 19,583 at the Huddersfield game, so about 18k blues out of that crowd.
*waves*
Also attended Burton (9-0), Salford (8-0) Leeds (7-0) and Sheff Wed (7-0)

Delighted to win the game after all the other 2025 FA cup finalists were defeated earlier

Well done Man city, particularly the young players who worked hard and got their rewards today, some clinical finishing in there. Pretty much everything that was hit went in, Exeters defending was dreadful. Felt sorry for their keeper at the end

Sat next to some Exeter fans in the home support, they left after 80 mins, so they missed their goal.

What a difference a few days make, much cheerier post match thread tonight - lets hope the team carry through more confidence for the busy schedule of games coming up.

Too many players to single out today, McAidoo and Semenyo look good, hopefully Ake gets some form back, he will be needed in the coming few weeks

Watched v brief highlights on iplayer, professional paddy connor mcnamara didn't see fit to mention the first scorer with a debut City goal, didn't show the pen, and had as much enthusiasm for our goals as any of us listening to the usual numskulls on our games. I loved Rico's double, great moment with Captain's armband too.

On the app Steve Howey and Ali Mann willing double figures, great. Didn't know Howey is a Wearsider and the only 2 clubs he listens out for were City and Sunderland. Interesting for the barcodes???

All this and a Rodri Thunderbastard(TM) !
