Expectations - 2021/22

Just watching Spain v Sweden. Spain are like a Pep B side - all ultimately worthless possession, should be losing 2:0, and three City players started. Rodri hooked - rightly. Laporte been OK and Torres anonymous.
What I want most next year is for Pep to stop the bloody tweaking crap in Cup games - cost us two possible trophies last season.
 
Given all our recent success,i dont really have any expectations.

We are not going to win the League every year.

Now i am over the Champions League Final defeat.Where i am still of the opinion the best team gifted the final to Chelsea.

In reflection even considering the Champions League defeat.We did really well last Season with the players we had available.Long parts of the season with no Sergio,Sterling form falling off a Cliff. Literally no recognized Striker.To go on and win the League,League Cup,and reach an FA CUp Semi -Final,and Champions League Final was quite an achievement when you think about it.

We sign a decent Striker,or two,it could be another good Trophy haul.

I love seeing how many trophies our players have won when they come to retire. You look at someone like Phil Foden with 3 Prems, 1 FA Cup, 4 League cups already. I want him to be the most decorated English player. So if we keep winning Charity shields and league cups that will help!
 
Retain the league. Win the CL.
If we retain the LC again, what a bonus. Sacrifice the FA Cup, purely because it clashes too much with preps for the end of the season run in - and hopefully a second final in the CL.
Retaining the league title and winning our first CL = an excellent season.
 
This is going to sound a bit mad but I am hoping for a tactical evolution. At times last year we looked impotent in big games and we didn’t really have “something different”. Maybe a recognised striker is that (but looking at Kane drop into MF with England playing a similar system I’m not so sure) but for periods this season we were sometimes quite toothless

(Yes yes. Spoiled I know! But just want us to get better and better!)

Wouldn't be surprised If Pep spends the summer coming up with a new system.
 
Get a top class striker in and challenge for the League.
False no 9 and no new class striker = fight for top 4

Hopefully those even worse than usual officiating performances in the last few games were not a sign of things to come
 
I'm hoping for a title fight against someone other than the dippers. Hopefully if us and Chelsea are the two main contenders it will be less toxic than when we have battled Klopp's bunch of cultists.

Would like to win the league obviously but would settle for the Champions League, Carabao and top 4 (as long as we finish above the rags).

That does look pretty entitled reading it back!
