Expectations - 2021/22

I’ll be in Albert Square on Monday the 23rd of May with many others. That’s where I expect to be and nothing has changed my thoughts .
 
if we are not in top 2 in PL end of season once we sign Kane as well then something must have gone horribly wrong. but when you add Grealish and Kane for the price we do to an already Champions team you cannot be delighted even with a close second place.

thing is I dont think we can just hope its another slow start for us but then we do another 20 game winning series and all will be good again. thats not how it always works, does it? last year Lampard messing with chelsea and Klopp having their CB injury nightmare which made them having Henderson-Milner CB duo at one point is not going to be repeated and if they can be solid at the back they dont need much for a serious title challenge.
for a start our 3 main rivals all could end up with more points they finished last time. we brought 3 points from Stamford Bridge/Anfield last time, if they turn into losses this year thats 6 points difference compared to them.
and thing is we play Chelsea away, Liverpool away games very soon in September possibly before we can even hit our top form. (Last year our poor start went all the way until December didnt it, and then it started to click for us.)

I would have much more preferred United's shit easy fixture list for the first two months and then we can face tougher away games once we are in form and not effected by lack of proper pre season that much, as for them it gives a momentum for the season and more likely for them to get off to a really good start with lot of shit teams yet to find their form when playing them. even fucking Leeds let them to gather momentum by being wide open for them.
 
If we sign a striker, we win it all - bar one cup, possibly.

In the league: 2nd or 3rd if don't sign a striker.
In UCL: out in semis, if we don't sign a striker.

i predict a poor season with just one trophy if we're lucky even with kane if he comes ......we're toothless bring in the kids ......delap doyle etc
Beating man u Liverpool Chelsea convincingly would prove me very wrong
 
Hope to win the Carabao again and not get done late on in the FA Cup. Top four in the league if we sort out some critical positions - left back, defensive midfield and goal scorer.

Not a cat in hells chance in the Chumps, if you are watching the groups take shape like at least one other Bluemooner you will know. What I mean.

I think top 4 finish this Season maybe a Cup.

Last season winning the League was a real achievement, considering our lack of striking talent.

This season i think it will cost us. Our rivals are all much stronger.

I also think we are heading for a season, possibly two of transition. It happens, we have had a good few seasons winning Silver.

I am not sure the likes of Rodri/Cancelo/Torres are our future. I am not seeing it. I also think it is time Sterling was moved on. As well as some of the wage thieving dead wood like Mendy. We need to bring a couple of Kids through

Yes, we can't afford to drop as many points as last season but come on, it's one game. FFS. CTID
 
Looking back at our hopes/expectations in this thread, it looks to me like we were generally pretty realistic at the start of the season. .

Just looked back to what I posted but I changed my mind halfway though the season to I’d rather win the champs league!

Now if I new how we were going to win the league on the last day last game, going 2 down and scoring 3 in 5 mins I would of stuck to my original prediction..
