Expectations for next season..

Top 4 finish to continue qualification for the Champions League and to at least reach the group stages of the CL.
Top 3! Fourth doesn't et you into the CL, it gets you into a qualifying round with the chance to get into the CL.
and do you mean get out of the group stage/reach the first knock-out stage?

I certainly hope for a better challenge for the PL this year; for it to be over by early March is not good enough and reflects poorly on English football. Secondly, I expect a more fluid, rounded game where we are capable of using pace, width and, where appropriate, directness to achieve the results certainly against the more difficult-to-break-down teams.

I see us picking up silverware but I'm not fixated by this. There will be I think 6-7 teams realistically vying for the domestic pots this year, with 4 (Us, Rags, Chelski and the Arse) going for the title in my opinion and the cups can always throw up a shock or two as was the case with this years League Cup finalists.

As for the CL, we have to make progress in the group stages. Simples. And I think it is here where the new boss will be most severely judged; If we reach the QF's I think that will definitely been seen as a positive foundation upon which to build. Flop again, and I think Pellegrini will be under pressure, although I don't think that would lead to him leaving early, I still think he'd get another season but there is a sense I think where the Club are saying "you are the man, here are the resources, now go and deliver" and he has to be seen to do so.

I also think we'll see some younger players blooded more frequently than has been the case previously.

Fundamentally, I expect to see a sterner, harder-to-beat City playing closer to the 2011-12 standard and be a serious contender in all competitions.

Hmmmm.... Interesting question.

I guess the 'inners' would say in your first full season we have to win a major trophy maybe the something like the FA cup.
Then the following season we need to win the Premiership title. Not exactly completely fanciful as the last bloke in charge actually did it.

The 'outers' will probably say 'attractive football' a top 4 finish and through to the group stages of the Champions League.

Yep - a very interesting question....

win the champions league with a last minute own goal winner against real madrid from isco

win premier league back by april 16th

kids get to semi final of league cup

and get knocked out of fa cup at qtr final stage

I think if we can get top three playing attractive football, get out of the groupstage of the Chumps league, and get to a final FA Cup or league Cup, then for a first year I'd be happy with that.

First and foremost we have to qualify for the Champions League as that is the key to our long term success.

It would be immense if we could win back the league in style.

- be still challenging for the title with 2 games to go.
- get into the knockout stages of the Champions' League.
- a trophy would be nice.
- bring at least one promising youngster through (Guidetti, presumably).
- have a few of our midfielders get into double figures on goals.
- another 30ish goal season from Kun.

I think the owners expectations may be a bit higher than some posting on this thread.

We have already spent £50m and no doubt more to come.

I think a trophy is a must for Pellegrini, CL last 8, more points and a challenge in the prem.

I would like to see more attractive football.

Win a trophy, do better in Europe and generally progress on the pitch.
The fact is we went backwards on the pitch last season despite coming second.
Of course I would like to win the league but as long as we qualify for the following Euro campaign and play better on a consistent basis, I will be happy.
We need to ensure that if anybody is above us in the league at the end, they have earned it and not been given it because we under achieved.
