Wood flour, like many powders, is extremely explosive once it gets dispersed in the air.
Usually a small primary explosion wil be caused by mechanical fatigue or an electrical fault and, if the mill is not kept clean, the shock wave throws all the dust that is lying around up into the air and there is a devastating second explosion. The chances of this being anything other than an industrial accident are zero.
A very sad event. Thoughts go out to the injured and the missing, their families and co-workers.
