ISIS has a clear stated aim to turn European societies against Islam as that is critical to their strategy. So who is ISIS's friend those who seek to stand up to them, oppose them in support of our values or those who do exactly what ISIS wants them to do and seek to divide and turn against a whole religion.

It seems clear to me that an element of the right whilst grandstanding about how firm they are against ISIS are spending their time doing the bidding of ISIS and actually acheiving for ISIS far more than they could acheive for themselves.

Ironically in doing exactly what ISIS want they spend their time calling those who aim to crush and defeat the very ideals of ISIS sympathisers .

Good post. Us ordinary citizens need to go about life normally and treat people on how they behave as an individual.

Anyone that is found to be an extremist, we need to come down on them with a ton of bricks, but the ordinary Muslim must be treated like everyone else.

It's imperative we don't isolate people during these times. People often forget Muslims have been the biggest victims of ISIS.

It's actually completely true. Daesh thrives off the potential of disenfranchised Western Muslims fleeing to Syria because of how they could be treated over here in the wake of attacks like Paris and Brussels. You'd also be surprised to know that Daesh sympathisers are angry that so many Syrian refugees are making it into Europe because if they're stranded in places like Jordan, Turkey and Iraq, they can be more easily controlled.

The problem is, SWP's Back is correct - I had first hand experience of this shit when Al Kaida were blowing up Western Compounds and beheading Westerners in Saudi. A significant number of the locals found it highly amusing at the time. I decided it was time to get the fuck out of there.

Somewhat true. Polling finds that many Muslims are offended by what ISIS does, but not necessarily because they're tolerant or moderate. They might just consider ISIS's extremism to be the wrong brand of extremism. Also, in places like Nigeria 14% of the population supports them. That's over 20 million ISIS supporters.

Support for Sharia is a majority opinion in many Muslims countries, especially large and powerful ones like Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria, etc.
