You really notice it when someone like Ted Cruz has a go at the theocracy in Iran and talks about war when in all honesty apart from a few things they actually agree on far more than they would ever admit.
Same for idiots who want to blame the whole of Islam , round up Muslims,ban mosques being built etc how different is that to ISIS and their blame of all the west, round up of Non sunni's and destroying churches etc. The only difference is the decent liberal progressive majority keeps such extremes in check here but the whole structure of society was destroyed in Iraq and Syria so there is nothing to keep the extremists in check

I hates the ideas that seek to denounce everyone of a certain group be that ISIS hating all westerners and blaming all westerners equally or people who do the same to Islam. I despise the divisive politics of hate. Always have always will.

Cooperation is vital with the Muslim community and that cooperation will come from vilifying ISIS and not vilifying Islam and from vilifying terrorists and not refugees. The haters who want to build walls and throw a whole religion to the wolves are those who seek to create a billion enemies and make ISIs strong beyond their imagination.

These people seeking to divide could achieve more than ISIs ever could and could therefore be every bit as dangerous to us and our values as the terrorists themselves as stopping their recruiting sergeants is our best way to defeat them!

We'll defeat ISIS because we have overwhelming firepower compared to them. If they had our firepower, we would already be dead or subjugated.

Eventually it will be very difficult to conduct terrorism because it relies on our sympathy for not killing innocents. They rely on human shields. But our weapons are getting more advanced and geared toward terrorists. Our defense firms are making lights that can blind people, sonic waves that make people sick and disoriented, and canons mounted on airplanes that knock out electrical devices in entire buildings. We have lasers that can shoot missiles out of the sky. How long until we have drones that can simply fire a laser and boil the brain of Islamists? How long until we have armed robots? It's inevitable.

History teaches us conflict is only conclusively solved when both an iron hammer and an outstretched hand are used. Pretending you can solve the world with Old Testament responses has been proved a million times wrong, turning the cheek has been proved wrong too. Unless we can simultaneously act in both ways then more and more will die.

As for wanting ISIS defeated how is mimicking them and working for them to fulfill their aims defeating them. Which Seems to be what you are in danger of doing.

On a positive note it's seems the perpetrators of both the Brussels and the more recent Paris attacks were from the same terror cell and that cell is now being crushed as we speak. I'd have been more worried if these two groups of attackers weren't so strongly linked, it means that this lot seem to be the exception and are running a much better operation than other potential cells which haven't been able to organise an attack yet or have been thwarted.

On a negative note one of the men on the run visited Birmingham last summer but they don't know what for. It's unlikely he was visiting family or friends so i'm almost certain the visit was related to terrorism.
