Exposing the hypocrisy of journalists

McGeehan is the central to the whole thing. All these guys quote McGeehan or at the very least use the same language. He is their go to guy for UAE bashing. He has been shaping himself up to be a key media reference point for the UAE, which in itself isn't bad but his understanding of things is incredibly biased and not very smart..sadly though he has been awfully quiet ;)

Ah, yes.
I thought he was a source for the politics/human rights stuff (as you say), but the City-bashing was added by others.

You can say what needs to be said in one line:

The main regional power here is Saudi. They are linked to Man Utd, but he has chosen to go for City. What does that tell you?
Possibly that if he wants publicity, alienating United fans rather than fewer City fans may not aid his objective?

I think that's true about Delaney and Harris, less so for McKenna and McGeehan.
Maybe, I’ve not had the misfortune to be on Twitter so I only see the links posted on here. My comment Goes for the vast majority of this new age of fanboy, glory hunting, non neutral hacks that have clearly left the old style of impartial journalism way way behind since the first glimmer of a trophy for ickle old ciddy

He's as bad. His pinned tweet at the top of his twitter page (since 2017) is City bashing

I have a (possibly faulty) memory of that getting pinned when the other stuff blew up.

My point was that he's not a sports hack primarily, and City are collateral rather than focus for him - useful to bring views in, but not an end goal.

It's weird because so many twitter trolls (I almost said journalists) including Mackenna (and maybe Mcgeehan) argue City fans should boycott the club because of the actions of the UAE who, as we all know, don't legally own City. Yet Mcgeehan regularly retweets articles from Human Rights Watch blaming the UAE for causing extreme poverty (especially to foreign workers) because of their boycott of Qatar. So if boycotting countries routinely causes such negative effects, how can he possibly advocate that City fans and all others who have some kind of real or imagined relationship with the UAE boycott them?

Standard Chartered have been fined $1.5 billion for serial money laundering offences, most of them on behalf of Iran. Iran funds the Houthi rebels in Yemen with money and weapons. The Houthi rebels have blockaded the Red Sea ports which has prevented badly needed food aid from getting into Yemen. 50,000 people have died in the resulting famine. Liverpool have taken and continue to take countless millions in sponsorship from Standard Chartered who have been their principal shirt sponsor since 2010 with an extension until at least 2023, sponsorship money that at least in part has its origin in money from Iran made by S&C as a result of their money laundering criminality.

Yet it's all the fault of City and our wonderful owner.

P.S. On a side note Liverpool's secondary (sleeve) sponsor is Western Union who have been fined $586 million for money laundering for criminals.
That's just sad isn't it? Shirt sponsor, sleeve sponsor and kit maker all with similar links.

I was just trying look up the New Balance links again from the original twitter feed(think it was a Turkish-Iranian link) but it seems to have disappeared? Infact Ewan MacKenna‏'s twitter isn't loading at all. Can anyone confirm that his twitter account has been deleted?
