Exposing the hypocrisy of journalists

True. One rule for one...

This would not normally bother me. I take it that football is subterfuge but it's the unequal treatment, or perception of it that irritates.

When players are assets worth £75m, the there needs to be very strong regulation. These transfers are worth extraordinary amounts of money. There seems to be no proportionality or fairness in UEFA's disciplinary process, and no proportionality in the media reporting either.

Everyone is 'up to no good' to a certain extent, but it seems only a few clubs are singled out & City, whatever we get up to, have a long long way to go, before we match the favoured clubs for dastardly deeds.

Utd had Paul Ince, posing in their shirt, when there was no agreement to sign him. That was before the Prem even started. They have been operating like that ever since.

Germany is a joke. They didn't want KDB to come here, preferring to let Bayern have him, so they can win even easier.

It's obvious what is going on there & in Spain.

They don't even make much effort to hide it.

But then all these people get on our case, because we refuse to bend over for them like the others do.

They would say, "Whataboutery"

I still think there is a lot of fallout coming from the Qatar / Abu Dhabi disagreements and competition for global football.... Qatar have someone in the governing bodies, there are leaks (To our detriment) from the governing bodies themselves, PSG have gotten away scot free it would seem (Whilst City are dragged through the mill) and from what I see a lot of the reporters reporting shit about City work for Qatari Al jazeerra (in one way or another)

Why are people even arsed about what other people say about them, it's playground tactics, ignore it.

Do any of our fans actually believe the Players read the papers and think "oh, that must be true". All I'm bothered about reading is the lineups an hour before kick-off. No point in reading any anlysis as that's all subjective. The only thing that matters is what is dicussed between players and backroom staff (on a need to know basis).

The very fact people start threads and re-post Journailists diatribes and un-confirmed rumours is proof they are doing what they set out to do. A journalist slating a team with 5,000+ re-tweets is going to be head hunted by the top papers to say the same again and will be paid for it. Well done for keeping them in jobs.

End of the day, the club can manage itself, the owner, by all evidence, doesn't give a damn, the fans too, having been through hell and back, don't care beyond a point. Eventually all the media negativity isn't going to impact anyone's joy. City will manage UEFA, we have the best lawyers and management at work.

And I'm doing what I did when I had 40 followers, point out inconsistencies and striking a few lucky blows..so I'm not sure this is a "battle".

Having said which, I believe is that between factual pushback Vs insults, the factual pushback lands a meatier blow. Some of these journalists are good at writing nonsense and then when confronted, act like victims, providing them more meat to write columns.
Rather than this, basic research reveals that most of them don't have a clue of what they're speaking about (especially when it comes to football finance, human rights etc) and also their hypocrisy, exposing that makes them.look a bit silly...so if you're in the mood..do join in the fun :)
I thought you were a hack on the club payroll? ;-)

Anyways, how many more followers do you need before you can start endorsing products like the Kardashians (that's right guys, I'm down with the cool kids)?

Has the club actually said something to these journalists as it’s seemed to have gone quiet on the shit slinging since it’s crescendo after the FA cup final. I’ve seen a couple of baldly put together cut and shut rehashes in the Daily Mail that made me laugh but nothing since.

Will the timetable for more shit slinging commence around the charity shield or West Ham away? Or the press having fun writing stuff about United as it’s pretty easy pickings and open season on them at the moment.

The crap will start again on the build up to the Charity Shield and will build even further if we win it. So, be prepared.

Fraizer Campbell. Yet another next best thing who quickly disappeared off the radar. Resurfaced at Hull, next to Sunderland the graveyard of choice for the rags' next best things.

That's how I understood it.
I assume that only Spurs could complain as they had not given permission to Utd to talk to the player. They were bought off with Campbell.

Why would he endorse the Kardashians? Give him some credit!

I don't think they were referring that rabin should endorse the kardashians, rather that the kasdashians for whatever reason have such a following that they can endorse other products\companies etc

Yeah sky sports were even saying taggart had gone to far that time.

Fast forward to next morning no mention

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but have you noticed now that two of the world's most high profiles are involved on very similar disputes with their clubs whilst subject to transfer to Barcelona.

Griezmann failed to turn up to training amidst allegations that Barcelona 'tapped up' the player, and Neymar has also failed to show for training. I take it FIFA are going to be investigating this? There's all kinds of murk and foul play in football, and yet it only seems to be City who come to the attention of the footballing authorities.

This time at least someone from the media has reported this, but I seriously doubt UEFA will look at this. This type of activity, or alleged activity, brings the game into disrepute, and UEFA's appearing to operate double standards, does likewise.

This reminds me of how Real Madrid used to use their influence to gobble up and push through galactico transfers every Summer so that they only had to mention that a player was a transfer target in the Summer, before eventually extracting him from the targeted club.

Comments Mr Tebas?

For background see: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ico-madrid-disciplinary-proceedings-barcelona
Barca and Griezmann agreed personal terms before the 1st July. Before this date his buyout was €200m. after this date it fell to €120m. Theres now a dispute between Athletico and Barca over what to pay. Barca waited until after the 1st July to say they would pay the buyout. Athletico, rightly in may view, say they should be paid the higher figure because a deal with the player was done, pre contract signed, before the 1st July. Let's see Tebas sort that one out. I bet anyone Barca side of this disagreement is what transpires

I was told we were never in for berbetov. Fergie and city hatched the story of the "kidnap " to leave Chelsea a clear run at Robinio,or so they thought. Meanwhile we lifted him whilst they sat comfy. Fergie thinking Chelsea were by far a bigger threat didn't want him going there. At the time he was right.
