External Hard Drive

I have an external hard drive that pretty much has my entire computer backed up onto it but I dropped it while it was running. I will plug the thing in and it will turn on but the computer wont recognize that it is there. I realize that I am probably screwed here but is there anyway I can get this fixed relatively cheaply?

Has the computer recognised it in the past?

Well if you have dropped it there is a big chance that the Reader Pick has broken and mostly when thats happends some data will be lost because the Pick will drop onto the lines and it will destroy a part of it.

Well you should google what methods of saving it are avaiable, then check on a another device like dvd or some other player.
