Need to purchase one with shed loads of storage space. Probably 2TB

Now not being a computer whizz I was hoping for some advice on which ones are the best.

Come in TCIB.

I'm no expert but Amazon are doing some 'Black friday' deals on these this week, might be worth a look.

Cheers HP

I bought this 2TB one last week and it seems fine. Free 4gb usb stick as well if you look at the offer.

2tb SSD will cost a fortune if they are even available?
120 gig is gettin on for a hundred quid.

Check out scan.co.UK they are usually reasonable

just make sure its a solid state hard drive.

What does that mean mate

simply ...the old hard drives had moving parts where a slight knock (would break it - hearing the scratching disk sound) to them meant paying ridiculous money to get the data from the drive by an expert.

newer solid state drives have no moving parts therefore cannot break as easy. they are faster and can be repaired easier.

Are you after an internal or external hard drive?

Some of the externals at 2tb go for just under 80 quid if you shop around.

Western Digital and Seagate have always seemed popular, I've owned several internal and external WD and they have bee fine.

I have had some generic ones too that have been decent

Bought a 500gb one from Tesco last week for 30 quid. Seagate 3.0 USB as well.

For a 2tb one look here:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action=search&keywords=2tb" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action ... ywords=2tb</a>

Reckon you'll pick one up for 60 quidish pal.

Took the plunge and bought this one after reading some reviews. Realised 2TB would just be way to much for what I need it for.

Thanks for all the advice.

best to buy seagate, but they dont really do over 500mb....if i had to choose another it would be crucial or toshiba

The one I posted was a Seagate one so was quite pleased for 2tb at £84.99. It's reduced from £129.99. 5 out of 5 on the reviews as well!

3TB for £98
