External Hard Drives

I'm after a new one. I want one over 1TB but don't want to pay over about £120. I also don't want a shite one that is slow on the data transfer point as I'll be streaming media from it over my network.

Any recommendations?

I have this one <a class="postlink" href="http://www.maplin.co.uk/1tb-seagate-expansion-portable-hard-drive-508706" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.maplin.co.uk/1tb-seagate-exp ... ive-508706</a>
I stream media from it all the time so it seems to be fast enough, and only £80

Sorry to hijack damocles, anyone know where I can get a very cheap thingy to put my old encrypted HDD in once my new laptop gets encrypted on Monday so I can get all my files off it.

http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/hard-drives-ext/enclosure-(35-525)-sata make sure its the right size though so your hard drive will most likely be a 3.5
How can I check? Is it literally unscrew it and measure?

Look at the side of the HDD that displays the HDD info, not the disk side.

Example:

<a class="postlink" href="http://inlandcomputerservices.com/catalogo/images/Maxtor_MaxLine_III_250GB_IDE133.jpeg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://inlandcomputerservices.com/catal ... DE133.jpeg</a>

If you look on the disk it will say the size of the HDD, on the example on the right it says 3.5

I have this Samsung USB3 drive: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008PABFX8/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008PABFX8/</a>

I have no complaints, other than if you test its scratch-resistant surface with a key, you won't be happy. Oh, and you might want to order a longer wire whilst you're at it: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003WV5DO2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003WV5DO2/</a><br /><br />-- Fri Sep 21, 2012 3:31 pm --<br /><br />

Upload a picture Ill tell you what it is.
It's a laptop so it'll almost certainly be a 2.5.
