Extinction Rebellion

Not quite extinction rebellion but wow I just watched this, blew my mind that this is actually happening.

I used to live in Saigon, and it's a similar situation there, albeit not quite as bad.

There's basically no drainage, so during rainy season you could expect at least one day a week where you'd have to ride/push your motorbike home through three feet of dirty water.

They should be handing out leaflets informing people about their options not trying to glue a city to a standstill, if you break the law then you should expect to be treated like you've broke the law.
That will probably go in the bin
Fact is XR have got people thinking about climate change more than they would have with just leaflets

Time to get tough with these fucking idiots it really is.

My daughter had a friend sleep over and her father is a police officer up here in Dumfries & Galloway and she hasn't seen him for over a week because he has had to be sent to London to deal with the pricks and their often illegal protests.

Left wing anarchists in the main with a political agenda they have hidden behind climate change.

One was an 82 year who glued his hands to the side of the train, You're actually in favour of these folk getting beat up off a gang of commuters?

I've just seen that video he's dragged off then set upon.
How does dancing on a cummuter train, making everyone go home to get their car, help the environment. I think half the people that do it are just anarchists, they don't actually give a fuck about the environment.
If you were just trying to get to work wouldn't you be happy the twat got his comeuppance?

I wish someone would prevent me from going to work in the morning:-)

Your boss says the same thing!

Climate change is something we have to start taking seriously but pissing off commuters using an environmentally friendly mode of public transport and performing 'conceptual dance' in the middle of a road you've blocked really isn't a good way to get people to do that.

That was satisfying to see.

Raise awareness, it IS an important issue, but disrupting people's lives, people who have to get to work to pay their way in life, doesn't garner much sympathy.
Disrupt the lives of those who are directly accountable if that's how ER feels will better get the message across, not regular working folk. People will just end up seeing ER as a nuisance, their message ends up getting ignored or lost and things like this are the result.

Sorry but I can't say I have any sympathy for the **** who was dicking about on top of that train mate. You only have to look at that video to see the broad cross-section of people who are on that platform and who, almost to a man and woman, are seriously pissed off and rightfully so. Ordinary people like you and me who are simply going about their daily routine, only for some fucking bellend to come along and disrupt it. I bet he wouldn't like it if the shoe was on the other foot. He deserved a slap or two IMO.

Listening to the guy filming the whole scene, he was asked by the interviewer "why protest a tube station, where people are just trying to get to work"?

He replied stating that the Police have closed off areas under some act or other, which means these are the only viable places to protest where they can "reach" a lot of people. That's their justification; we can't protest there, so we'll do it here and disrupt everybody. Well if my "message" resulted in people dragging me down and kicking the shit out of me, i'd take that as a hint to get the fuck out of dodge and that my "message" was not welcomed at that particular place in time. "I didn't expect the people of London, the good people of London, to behave like that..." No shit sherlock, you were making them late for work, jeopardising their employment and livelihoods.

He will think twice about aiming a kick at someones head in future as well seeing a that was what greeted him on the ground.

Peaceful protest my arse!
They're non-violent, they only protest "mischievously"! (in their own words)
