Extinction Rebellion

Some though just want it to keep going for as long as they can get away with; milk the attention for what it's worth. It's folk like these we're hearing about.

Those are the political anarchists that have latched on and hiding behind the climate debate to cause disruption of any kind and with a view to bringing down governments.

Sadly for ER its those most of us can see right through.

Most us aren't arsed as that fella who got his head kicked in on that train found out.

A bunch of well meaning protesters who thought stopping ordinary self interested arseholes from going to work would make them think of anyone but themselves.

Good post but playing devils advocate not all people going to work are self interested arseholes but generally you are correct.

Can't this lot protest against something more infuriating that humans these days are forced to indure. Previous generations never had to suffer this injustice. var.

Aye, but previous generations didn't have to contemplate the sea coming over your front step or 100 degree days all through the summertime or half the world's animal species disappearing. Never a good thing to tell somebody i told you so but in 50 years the climate change doubters will see & feel it for themselves.

Anyone who thinks we aren’t fucking up the planet has a defective mind.
It’s mad really. On most political issues you might not agree with others but you can ultimately understand their point. On climate change it’s hard to be tolerant with people completely denying it.

Not just climate change, but what we’re doing to the oceans is disgusting and will endure.

And anyone who pretends to think we aren’t fucking it up has a dishonest one.
We all know we're fucking it up it's what to do about it that's the problem,it's a numbers game the human race has too many numbers and doesn't look like slowing down any time soon.

I agree we have known about this for a long time now and the response has been pretty poor, we may need people to at least try and get it going a bit. Maybe someone will protest or something. I think every one can agree on that:-)

**** half way up Big Ben putting himself and those who have to get him down in danger.

His friends at the bottom can be heard chanting "we love you"

No doubt party time when he comes down over a bottle of Elderflower wine and a veggie burger.
Should just shoot him down imo.

Blocking roads is not lawful..

Go park your car across the M60 and when the police arrive tell them you are having a lawful protest and see how long you last.

Same for pitching a tent in the middle of a road in central London.

Peaceful protest could and should have been done via an organised march.
At a family do Saturday night and people were there that live by Vauxhall Bridge

They said that the protests seemed largely a façade for large street festivals with people just partying through the night - at the expense and inconvenience of other people

Well he's been arrested for doing it 13 times already this year. I'm sure he's used to it.
How does that work?

1st time a caution / warning?

2nd time - court appearance / small fine etc?

When does something that acts as a deterrent kick in?
