Extreme Away Days

It was midweek, tues or weds,we didn't get in till just before half time because of the police taking the p1ss with searches from edgehill all the way to the ground.
it was a war zone all night, saw people slashed in the face on the coach back to the train station, then on the train, windows being put through with pellet rifles, thank god the guards had pulled the metal blinds down, all the way back to the train station every household standing on their doorsteps giving us the V's
Yeh was serious trouble that night mate you had to have your witts about you in them days!

There were a few more than 50, I was on the Finglands coach and there was a Mayne's coach too plus a few southern-based Blues, including a couple of old school-mates of mine.I didn't realise at first that they were Chelsea, I was wondering where QPR's "firm" had come from as it was usually one of the quieter away trips. Dreadful match too, uneventful 0-0 draw.
Not many at that game though .... yeah I tried to get on supporters club coach outside Maine rd but it was full so got in a white escort van and went down with some lads I’d never met before . Parked white city and went in .... a little mob arrived but we steamed in and they ran back under the stand they came from ... someone said they were Chelsea because qpr usually did nothing

Brighton away at start of 81/82 season got absolutely pissed on in open end, froze my bollocks off all the way home on the special,we lost 4-1 too..
Wasn't that the 1983 FA Cup 3rd Round...? Bond quit after it.

Coldest for me was either Sunderland or Boro early 80's. Got earache one game at Ayresome Park, windy as fuck and we were high up in the open end.
Scariest away at Newcastle 1983.... we got beat 5-0, fuck knows what they would have done to us had we drawn..... kicked the fuck out of us before, during and after the game (how did they get in our end? It was all ticket!) Said I would never go there again and I never have......

that was 4-0 ;)....we took a few slappings down there over the years....

Derby away lost 6-0. Arrived late and the end was crowded couldn't breathe .
Left early. Loads of trouble outside. Had booked a room in a pub in Matlock. Loads of City fans came in and caused trouble. Police arrived and made me and my mates leave the pub with them despite having a reservation. Finally got back there about 10.00pm.
I can remember that 6-0 and not being able to breathe in the terrace behind the goal. Scary.

Worst hour ever.... 15 mins late in 15 mins early out. It was that packed you couldn't even surge. It was like a frozen tin of sardines. ...The Good old days.

Stoke at the old Victoria ground was fun, as was any midland team when you look back now there was some scary shit but at the time being young and stupid you somehow buzzed of the excitement

Can't compete with most of these stories, but Newcastle FA Cup 4th round in 1969 was the worst crush I was ever in. A group of geordies arrived late and roared into the crowd, I could hardly breathe & got pushed about 20 yds. Lost sight of my mate, only saw him again back at the bus. Cold too.

Bimingham away night match when Brum invaded the pitch and came over to our end and then outside. Bricks bottles you name it came flying over. Carnage
