True but we are trying to break the mould so lets do it properly and make it how it should be. It's intimidating for the away team and fans to hear a full house chear and sing. Stick the away fans in the third teir and fill the bottom with singing blues to drown them out, Newcastle do it so why cant we?

couldnt agre more mate but there is another thread saying last night didnt work but i bet if tevez had of scored the chance in the 1st half that just missed the post and city went in 1 or 2 up there be a thread sayin the atmosphere was brill sometimes if not all the time fans react to what happens on the pitch

the b.munich fans were in full voice till 60sec into the game then they were silent till they got back into the game

Pleas dont compare us to bayern....they are a club like the rags and dont have fans, they are just glory hunters. their atmosphere is a joke unless they are 2 goals up!

I do wonder why people go on about the 'German model' so much?

Yeah they have great prices and the atmosphere can be better, but at times its just as stale as COMS or OT.

Ask yourself why they still have perimeter fencing whereas we dont in this country?

There is a genuine and worrying level of violence that comes with the 'German model'.

The grass is not always as green as you think.

You have obviously never been to Germany. Although i agree with some of the posters on here a lot of them have got it so wrong.
Firstly the ticket prices are equivalent to England but you get the bonus of local free travel to the match.
Secondly they don't have any better atmosphere than we do, probably worse.
Thirdly the "genuine and worrying level of violence" that you talk about is almost none existant.

I actually think the difference is cultural. Most British people these days seem to have the attention span of a gnat. " I want to be entertained now and if i'm not i will boo until i am".

free travel for season ticket holders, metrolink, bus and train. a must.......

a lot of people slagging the finishing of players names, the atmosphere in germany last year for the city games was fantastic. at the moment it does sound a bit cringeworthy, thats because nobody likes change. just because we have done it one way in england for the last 30 years doesnt mean its the right way.

if it makes a difference while we are at the games and involves the crowd a bit more, the players always respond better.

if the players are lifted by us shouting their name, im all for it, imagine 47,000 people shouting your name.

why not give it a try?

I dont care if this has already been said by anyone else...

If anyone from the club is/does read this then please get over to Germany and speak to the clubs about how it's done a.s.a.p. The crowds and how to cram them in (£10 tickets helps I guess) but more so the atmosphere and the way the the pa guy gets the crowd going with his own enthusiasm. Every goal or player mantioned and the crowd goes wild.... He says the players first name and the stadium finish it! It sounds emence and that's what I want at COMS, interaction, and A pa guy who sounds excited and like he wants to be there. Get on a plane tonight and set up meetings for tomorrow or pay me and I'll go and do the research for you.
Germany needs to be where we look for making COMS into the place we all crave and want, the football will come but it'll come quicker with the crowd on side too. Surely this is the key?
Thoughts?

they can stand uo for most matches

Utter Bollox. They sang throughout the game!
Well done Bayeren & fans.

good travel in & out would help poeple to get in early & stay til the end
realistic prices foor beer & pies
decent beer
safe standing (gives poeple the choice)
cheap admission & walk ups

imo all things that would help , do the germans do it i dont know

a friend of mine went to a b munich game recently, got there early in the unreserved section so he could get a good view.

unfortunatly all the seats had towels on them

yes they seem to have don well over in germany for atmospehere but imo if we got a dead excited announce guy it would be weird. does anyone remember the stage between alan keegan and the bloke we have now? it was some guy and i think it was for wolves at home. horlock scored the winner. anyway before the game he kept on shouting "ARE YOU READYYYYYY?" to which everyone was just silent. "I CANT HEAR YOU! ARE YOU READYYYYYYYYYYY?" was pretty strange. basically football fans over here are different and more laid back these days. to most fans atmosphere isnt a major concern.

For the most part, I like our announcer guy. But last night it took about 5mins to read the teams out, and by the subs, I think people are bored of cheering...then a lull, then cheering...then a lull.

I think the first leg of the semi had a different guy, and he read them out quicker, which lead to a more sustained cheer in time for kick off (not that we needed much help that night!)
when he has introduced the city players,he should announce,"and now from norwich, its the joke of the week, naa na na"
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jPOT4mP8c8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jPOT4mP8c8</a> older blues will remember this being sung to the real norwich fans.

that 90 minutes singing at matches in germany is done by a small group of fans, the ultras. And they ´re are not liked by everyone.
