Absolutely bang on, I've held this view for a long time. Michael Masi has a place in F1 history.....

They’ve never got to grip with these new regulations, a complete rip up of the no side pod design has put them well behind Red Bull. Can’t see them catching them up next season neither. Next regulation changes in 2026 might bring a new pecking order with the change to the power unit and more manufacturers making them than the three they have now.

Stop spoiling my attack on Masi with facts.

He drives with a lot more maturity and composure this season, but I suppose he should really when he's driving the quality of car that he does.

Nevertheless, superb driver in a great team.

I don't think in its present form F1 is sustainable......... competition is what drives interest
How can the playing field be leveled to make more/all teams competitive every race, without killing any technical development or mechanical ingenuity?

Would totally identical cars actually solve anything? That may still bring in a similar dominant situation where one driver continues to win race after race.

They have levelled it to some extent with cost caps and certain parts becoming universal across cars. Mercedes can’t throw money at upgrades to develop themselves in front of the pack like they used to which is why they find themselves in the predicament they are in. Red Bull have Adrian Newey who has given them a head start on everyone else understanding ground effect. I wouldn’t want identical cars as it starts creeping towards being Indy car, F1 is about constructors putting their ideas on a set of regulations. Red Bull are dominant at the moment however there is some very good racing happening. Some of the overtakes round Monza yesterday had balls of steel, you get it wrong side by side at some of the speeds they are going it’s a big accident.

Car swapping one who finishes last drive in Max car in the next race[emoji38]

I find it funny that people are kicking off about the sport being ruined by domination of one driver / team, when for the majority of its modern history that's how it's always been.

It's why every few years they bring in big regulation changes to shake things up.

2021 was the anomaly, not the norm.

Tbh a few boring seasons wouldn't be a bad thing, the Netflix crowd might fuck off...

Think if you like the driver you don't give toss if he wins every race for the next 2 seasons that was me with Hamilton am starting to warm to Max but what happened for his first f1 title and redbull bulshit put me off them all..

Oh I agree completely about Verstappen’s first title, it was an outrage and IMO should be taken off him. But last season and this season Red Bull are just better than everyone else and these cycles happen.

Long suffering McLaren fan here…!
