F1 2025 Season

They finished nearly 400 points behind in the constructors, which was won with 6 races to go. They wouldn't try and develop a car to win a constructors championship with only having one driver who can score points, whilst both McClaren drivers were 100 point ahead of Verstappen?

Also Red bull don’t give both drivers the upgrades at the same time, Max normally gets its 2-3 races ahead of his team mate. Yuki only ran the same spec car in the first race and last two.

Why would Red Bull develop a car when Vertappen was 100+ points behind and the Constructors title was gone? They wouldn't waste money like that! They would have promoted Hadjar if they were investing in this car! They thought the season was over, as did Verstappen! McClaren being to nice allowed Max to crawl pack 98 points and nearly lost them the Driver title, not car development!

They felt there was still performance they could unlock in the car they had produced by doing tweaks and it ended up working. Every world championship point as well is important as its prize money at the end of it, which ultimately means you can spend that money next year on the new car. They were in danger of finishing 4th in the constructors championship which would have given them $9 million less in constructors money. Sitting back and being passive on this years championship would have hit them in the pocket, where as at McLaren they felt they had enough early pace to be constructors champions and hopefully sew up the drivers championship. Their calculations could have easily backfired on the later in the end.

They did exactly that.

McLaren already had a car capable (and did) win the Constructors championship by the halfway point and didn't feel the need to develop it further; it was good enough. All effort by Red Bull then went into improving the RB21 for Max's sake, no other logical reason, to have him compete with the McLaren's.

The Constructors' was done and dusted, yes, but that wasn't the purpose. It wasn't like Max found 'a resolve deep inside he never knew he had' to claw it back. It was over by Las Vegas but Liberty Media wanted a 2021 repeat.

Utterly deluded clap trap.
The incompetence of McLaren race strategy and the continued performance of Max, the best driver by a country mile, was what led to the collapse of McLaren’s points difference.

Didn’t Yuki even have to run an old floor in the last couple of races?

Tbh I am sceptical that the second red bull seat ever has the same equipment. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they’re using hand-me-down laptops and second hand tools from a car boot sale.

Ehem...

Lando: 18 podiums, 7 wins (15 either 1st or 2nd)
Max: 15 podiums, 8 wins (13 either 1st or 2nd)
Piastri: 16 podiums, 7 wins (11 either 1st or 2nd)

McLaren: 833pts 1st
Mercedes: 469pts 2nd
Red Bull: 451pts 3rd

McLaren didn't need to develop the car by the halfway point and Norris still won.
Red Bull NEEDED to develop the car to give Verstappen a chance throughout the ENTIRE season and still lost. And that's with the ridiculous DSQ in Vegas. RB and Max flattered to deceive, that's all. "Collapse of McLaren's points difference?" RB were like 400 points off the pace!

The Drivers Championship was like City leading comfortably 3-1 for most of the game, conceeding again in the 90th minute and people thinking "ooh, must have been a close game!" when it finished 3-2.
