F1 Competition 2012: Season 2 **Entries Closed**

Cheers Ragnarok, we're sorted now.

Reason I changed it because I wanted to setup the F1 Cup, and 50 teams is a nice round number. So here's how it's going to be done.

If you're in my golf comp you'll know there's a straight knockout cup running alongside the league. Well as we have 50 teams the most practical way of doing it here is to have 10 groups of 5 teams, qualifiers from each group and then some straight knockout rounds. As I couldn't sleep much last night I organised it, so here's what I've come up with.

Group Stage

9 groups of 5 teams, 1 group of 6.
Each team plays each other once.
The winner of each match is the team that scores the most points in that week between the 2 teams.
it's 3 points per win, 1 per draw and 0 for a loss.
if there are ties, it comes down to points difference, and then points scored.
In the case of the 6 team group, the 2nd place team will have its result against the bottom team in its group removed so it can be compared under the same number of games with all the other 2nd placed teams.

the 10 group winners qualify for the last 16 along with the 6 best 2nd placed teams, judged on points and then points difference etc.

The last 16 and subsequent knockout rounds are all 1 legged, and unseeded.

So because of this, we need 5 races for the group stage and 4 for the knockout rounds, so this is what I've decided:

Schedule
Group Stage

Matchday #1-Shanghai(Chinese GP)-(13-15 April)
Matchday #2-Monaco(Monaco GP)-(25-27 May)
Matchday #3-Montreal(Canadian GP)-(8-10 June)
Matchday #4-Silverstone(British GP)-(6-8 July)
Matchday #5-Hockeheim(German GP)-(20-22 July)

Knockout Stage

Last 16-Spa(Belgian GP)-(31 Aug-2 Sep)
Quarter-Final-Monza(Italian GP)-(7-9 Sep)
Semi-Final-Suzuka(Japanese GP)-(5-7 Oct)
Final-Interlagos(Brazilian GP)-(23-25 Nov).

I did the group draw and fixtures last night, so I'll post them up in a bit, hope that's clear for everyone. Reminder this runs alongside the league.
