It's baacccckkk!!! After a winter hibernation the oil is pumping and the engines are running as the BM F1 Competition returns for its 2nd campaign. With all the pre-season testing done and dusted and less than 2 weeks till the season starts in Melbourne, it feels good to be able to bring back our little comp.

Last year mcfc1982 held off Akai by a single point to win the title, but can he retain his crown? Here's a link to all the action from last year's maiden voyage:

Right, onto business. We got 17 teams last year, I'd hope for a lot more this time around, looking for at least 32 so we can do an FA Cup style comp, but plenty more are welcome.

Here's how it works:

Pick 2 drivers, 1 constructor and 1 engine manufacturer from the list below and fit it into your allocated budget, your budget is once again £140m.

Points System

Drivers

You get the typical points scored in a race(ie. 1st=25, 2nd=18 etc.).

Also you get 6 points for making the top 10 in qualifying, and 5 points for making it through the first session plus:

Pole: 15 points, 2nd: 12 points, 3rd: 9, 4th: 7, 5th: 6, 6th: 5, 7th: 4, 8th: 3, 9th: 2, 10th: 1.

You also get 2 points for every grid place you qualified higher than the previous race, but lose 2 for every place lower you qualify. The same points apply for the race positions.

it's -10 points for a retirement due to a mechanical issue and -15 points for retiring due to a crash.

You get 10 points if both of your drivers finish on the podium, and 5 if they both finish in the top 6. You lose 20 points if both of your drivers fail to finish.

Constructors

You get the points scored by the team you chose during the race.

You also get or lose the difference between the team's points in the current race and the previous race(eg. if you score 25 in australia and then 28 in the next race, you get an extra 3 points, however if in the next race you scored 22, you'd lose 6 points).

Engines

10 points for all engines from your chosen manufacturer completing a weekend.

-3 points per an engine change.

-6 points per an engine failure.

For those wondering Caterham were Lotus, Lotus were Renault and Marussia were Virgin last season. We've also sadly lost Rubens Barrichello, Adrian Sutil & Jaime Alguersuari from the drivers but welcome a few new faces and the return of the former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen. Experts predicting it will be a much tighter season, and hopefully a very tight competition!

The deadline for the Australian GP is 23.59 on Thursday 15th March.

Here's my team:

Jenson Button-£45m.
Nico Hulkenberg-£35m.
McLaren-£35m.
Cosworth-£25m.

=£140m.

In the event of 2 teams being the same, the team that was entered first will remain the same and the other team will have to be changed, as otherwise you'll just score the same points every week.

Good luck!

Wtf? Who cares about pennies when it comes to F1?

I'll have to think hard about this one.
