F1 Season 2020.

Loads of early safety car or Mercedes would have been so far ahead that they could have 2 stopped. I bloody hate the excess use of the safety car it spoils the racing.

However the last few laps were interesting to say the least.

Xan't see how anyone could argue they weren't both justified?

Biggest question for me is why Mercedes didn't pit Lewis at the start of the last lap, just irresponsible really

Because Lord Hain declared it publicly after Johnson criticised Hamilton.
lord Hain would not know who the 5000 top tax payers are in the UK , Lewis may well pay a lot of tax but even he would only guess whether he is is in the top 00.1% as I say HMRC don't publish or rank personal tax that people pay .

It does seem a bit odd - the championship this year is a farce and will only go to Mercedes.
Even more bizarre was that Mercedes risked the loss once Verstappen had stopped.

I haven't seen any comments from RB on how knackered Verstappen's tyres were.

Christian Horner said in a post-race interview on C4 that the tyres on Max's car were definitely in bad shape and there was no guarentee that they wouldn't have gone the same way as Bottas' & Hamilton's.

The Times publish a list every year.

He pays a ton of tax in the UK.

He's in the top 5,000 tax payers in the country, despite not living here. Puts him in the top 0.01% of taxpayers in the country.
NOT A PENNY INCOME TAX.
He is a Monaco resident and subject to their tax regime.
O% income tax.

or do you really think he moved to Monaco for the views?

Why is F1 continuing this charade of wearing masks all the time? Surely there are times when it can be removed during interviews and so on, plus they're outdoors. It just seems a tad ott.

Because Lord Hamilton wants everyone to follow the BLM agenda.

Again, this isn't true.

Like every other athlete who performs in the UK, he has to pay tax on his income earned in the UK on a pro rata basis. For the normal F1 calendar that means 1/20th of his entire income. For this season it will be considerably higher.

This is the same law that stops a lot of athletics people like Usain Bolt racing in UK diamond league events and stops a lot of tennis players from playing anything other than Wimbledon here.

I enjoy watching F1 whenever it's on. I am aware of a lot of the rules but can somebody please explain what factors help Pirelli determine which sets of tyres they use for each race? Is it to do with temperature, type of track etc I imagine.

We are back at Silverstone next week and Pirelli have chosen the super softs for the 70th anniversary but why weren't super softs used this weekend?
