F1 Season 2020.

Good race. Lewis got a bit lucky but he put himself in that position through skill and brains.

A real shame for Max that he got stuck behind a slow Bottas and then the puncture, but it was only delaying the inevitable. We know he could challenge Lewis in (more) equal machinery, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen on a regular basis for some time, if ever.

Perez/RP dropped a real clanger but great to see Ricciardo 3rd again.

Could've been Gasly too, but he's shown that he's far better than Albon, who will not be in that car next year. Now way they retain him after this season and especially today. Nice lad but piss poor.

Red Bull/ Alpha Tauri should go after Perez. Promote Gasly to RB or put Perez in the RB seat. He guarantees points and mental that he doesn't have a seat.

Stroll was a clown today, he is such a poor driver.

Hamilton had just enough of a gap to stay ahead as Bottas had lost time on that lap, the VSC was so short that Hamilton only get 2-3 extra seconds because he slowed down for the pit lane just as it ended so Bottas and Max could go full steam through the fastest part of the track, so the effect was minimal despite the media hyping it. Bottas unlucky but the race followed a similar trend where he and Max had to pit early and Lewis could just pump in quicker laps on old tyres because of his superior tyre management.

Gasly was unlucky but would have been stuck in that queue with Ricciardo and Leclerc unless he'd risked going long, Perez had it sewn up but the team blew it, but then again RP don't ever come across as a team that makes the best decisions.

Albon blaming contact for spinning out by himself and then criticising the strategy, just has to be done surely and get Perez in the RB. Russell made a tit out of himself too, very talented but has been a bit rash and immature at times this season so hopefully this is a humbling experience he needs to mature as a driver. Stroll is just Stroll, driving terribly at the moment but guaranteed a seat. If his dad really had business acumen he'd ditch him and get kudos for doing so, but daddy's boy is keeping a F1 level driver out of a seat next season.

Turned out Bottas' car was carrying a Ferrari part which slowed him down.

yeah, he picked up part of Vettel from the first lap clash with Magnussen at the hairpin. Explains why he didn't pull away early against Max as expected, but I was just going off the trend of recent races when Bottas burns through his tyres to try and keep a lead and then Hamilton just picks him off later on with better tyre management, I think it would have been tighter today but that was just my expectation. It turned out that way but with a major mitigating factor, maybe if Bottas had got 4-5 seconds down the road on Max then it would have worked for him, but Bottas never tends to really pull away in those situations.

I don't for one second think Hamilton isn't renewing, but I am extremely curious at the idea he leaves F1 just to see how things would pan out without him?

If he left it late enough, we could see a 2021 Sergio Perez title challenge!
