To use a football analogy, that's like playing a champions league final, have one team go 6-0 up and make 5 subs with all the kids coming on just to enjoy the victory then in injury time uefa change the rules, shout "next goal wins" and the team who is 6 up has to fight the last few minutes with a severe disadvantage.
