FA.com Statement re Cup Final

In relation to the information announced for the kick-off time of The FA Cup with Budweiser Final, The FA would like to highlight that 5.15pm is a regular kick-off time in the football calendar.

This time was agreed with major stakeholders and broadcasters and has been used across the game for a number of years for televised matches.

In terms of transportation, a small percentage of Cup Final fans use the method of train travel.

Additional coach services which National Express are running, including directly from Wembley Stadium, mean there are more options for fans returning north after the game from Wembley on Saturday 11 May.

The kick-off time is unchanged from last year and this allows more football fans around the country to watch The Cup Final in its entirety.

The domestic viewing figures for last year’s FA Cup Final, shown on ITV and ESPN, recorded a combined peak in-home audience of 11.7m people in the UK.

This was the highest peak viewing figure The FA Cup Final has achieved under the current TV deal and a higher audiencee than that of Bayern Munich v Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League Final.

I've read the 8 pages and have only seen one poster who said anything about contacting the FA themselves! It's all well and good posting on here BUT why not write to the FA and complain to them?

Ric can't do anything about it, people posting on here just letting off steam can't do anything about it and the FA will never read this forum so the only way to get them to realise how fans are annoyed is by writing direct to them.

I've emailed them and also posted a letter by snail mail. As the saying goes, 'it ain't rocket science'.

They can ignore forums, newspapers and the like but if the ordinary fans start protesting direct to them maybe someone will sit up and take notice.

Ok, I know it might be a dream but hey, dreams do come true sometimes!!!

By protesting in the ground, by giving "free advertising" to the main rivals of the "FA PARTNERS" will bring the most pressure on the FA to finally LISTEN to the thoughts of the match going fan, one phone call from the chief of ONE of their "partners" will have more reaction in Lancaster Gate than a million emails and letters of complaint, or if it could be organised (and without the support of wembley it would be very hard), a montage of 3pm Tradition in a number of blocks would also be picked up by the tv companies, their viewers and the medja would jump on the bandwagon (well easier than having to actually work for their column inches)
