Good for the brand. Sponsors love him. Media love him. Opposition teams love him.

The FA needs to make England a fucking horrible team to have to face. All that talent, all that experience… but we’re a bloody easy afternoon out for most quality teams. If the FA wanted England to be winners - rather than just good eggs - they’d hire a winner.

But they got their guy. Rinse, repeat. See you in 18 months, dumped out of the Euros knockouts, by the first decent team England face.

You can just imagine the England dressing room after yet again not beating a team ranked 10 or above....

Southgate wearing various armbands, badges etc gets the squad to take the knee for x10 seconds then
delivers his post match positive feedback to instill confidence for the next campaign.....

"Well we are not going back with the trophy.....again and I know that we were technically relegated in the
Nations League, but remember.....we are all winners here...............especially me, on £5,000,000 per year.

Bluehammer is Southgate!

England were shit and had 1 shot from Duke that was a customary save from Lloris!

I do not know wtf he was watching but England never looked in control of that game.

That’s a lie though or just being disingenuous …

Kane turn in the area, one on one with Lloris, tight angle, great save.

Kane long range shot, good save from Lloris

Bellingham powerful hit outside area, top save from Lloris pushing it over bar

Foden corner, whipped in well, Lloris scrambles and misses, Maguire headed back that very nearly falls for rice to put into empty net. But Lloris fortunate it landed back to him on the floor.

Free kick whipped in, Maguire unmarked, good header that clips the post

Kane shot that ballooned over the crossbar from the penalty spot

Rashford free kick right at the end, hitting the roof of the net. Very close.

There was some more half chances,

Not this again.

These were the top chances created in the game, including those resulting in goals.

Not including the penalties, three of the top four chances were created by France, and the only missed chance where the attacker was expected to score was Giroud's missed chance just before he scored, due to a good Pickford save.

54th minute Kane penalty xG 0.80
84th minute Kane missed penalty xG 0.80
77th minute Giroud chance v England xG 0.55 (saved by Pickford)
22nd minute Kane chance v France xG 0.16 (saved by Lloris)
76th minute Giroud header xG 0.15
39th minute Mbappe chance v England xG 0.13 (over bar)
70th minute Maguire header chance v France xG 0.10 (hits post)
17th minute Tchouameni goal xG 0.02

England had near 60% possession, 30% more passes, nearly twice as many (mostly hopeful) attempts at goal, but were still outscored on xG 0.56 to 1.08. Tells me possession and passes were safe and the chances created weren't good enough. It also tells me France were playing well within themselves and had more left had they needed it.

But it's a game of opinions I suppose.

Southgate must stay, he has brought England back to the fore after many years. They have a selection of young players with great potential. In my opinion, the best midfield of the NT
