Believe or not FA's explanation (probably words Dean used) was that Baconface had "reasonable and rational conversation with referees even if he didn't agree with decision"

Dean just didn't have enough balls to report him. Fair play to him to letting that goal to stay though, not many refs would do it.

Pardew's main point (and he made it a bit guardedly, but still ...") was as much about the fact that the ranting went on at half time and was calculated to influence the ref's second half performance.
