FA Cup - 3rd Round Draw - Exeter H - (KO TBC)

@Exeter Blue I am here Who are you supporting?
MCFC of course, Col, although there will be a degree of split loyalty! It’s just the tie Exeter needed by the way. In real financial bother and only kept the wolf from the door last week courtesy of Birmingham City magnanimously agreeing to pay the outstanding money owing from the Jay Stansfield transfer, up front.
I’ve been to see Exeter three times this season at Stevenage, Rotherham and Northampton and they lost them all. They try to play decent football, but there’s a real lack of pace and cutting edge up top, and I would be astonished if they pull off a shock against even a weakened City.

Fantastic draw.

It will be our first competitive fixture against Exeter City.

A chance for some of the fringe players and Academy stars to get 90 minutes, and it will be a nice little earner for the Grecians.

It's crap that yet another club over 100years old finds itself in a financial predicament. There really should be grants or something from the top tier to help out in situations like this, considering just how much money is knocking about, it would be fuck all in comparison to all the money they are spunking on lawyers trying to do us over.

Vikings one weeks wages would probably be enough to keep them going for a season

The reality for Exeter for years has been starting every season with a handful of youngsters, a couple of stalwarts and a load of freebies on one year deals and loan signings. Anyone who has a decent season then gets ponced by bigger clubs or recalled from their loans, and they then start the next season with a completely different group of players. It’s a constant struggle and they’ve done well to stay in League One for the last 3 or 4 years

  • Wrexham v Nottingham Forest
  • Charlton Athletic v Chelsea
  • Manchester City v Exeter City
  • Liverpool v Barnsley
  • Manchester United v Brighton

will be the tv games I reckon

Nah.

Macc v Palace
Spurs v Villa
Portsmouth v Arsenal

More interesting than our game. The other 4 might be right. The main broadcasters will be all over Rags and dippers like they always are.
