Are you receiving me? (one for the XTC diehards)Could it be said you’re…making plans?
I absolutely love XTC. Very clever band. First saw them at the University of Manchester in Oct 78, then again at Manchester Poly in 79 (supported by Bruce Woolley.....remember him? Co-wrote Video Killed The Radio Star) and probably the best one of the lot at Rotters on Oxford Rd. Happy days!I remember when you you came down to our place in the mid 90's and all they played over the PA was bloody Oasis. Lost a great opportunity to showcase great Wiltshire music like XTC, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Twitch. What bands has Manchester produced to compete with that?

I hope that, after the game, we won't be "The Disappointed" but I suspect we will. Was at the Poly gig ,great band

This may‘ve already been answered but one that quickly springs to mind Wigan in 1971.I don't think City have ever played a non-league team in a cup match. @Gary James will of course correct me if I'm wrong.
Like many small towns around the country they almost all have a premier league team (Chelsea, Spurs, Rags typically) that they "support" via BT/Sky because only around 5,000 or so have the balls to stick with their local team. Respect to those that do.Have you ever been there? Premier League is not really that relevant as we are so far adrift of it now so "oil money and empty seats" is not the main topic of conversation in Wiltshire.
