Didn't listen to the commentary but is there any sense whatsoever in which he can be given the leeway on it, i.e. could what he said be interpreted along the lines of “They'll be looking down smiling on him”? What were his exact words?

This was a so called professional commentator on the game who made one mistake and then repeated it. I don’t give a shit about what people say about our Club, but bloody hell that was truly shocking by Tyldesley.

I don't think it's a rule it'll be a term of our contract with Sheffield United (which we can probably waive if we wanted).

They're not cup-tied. If they were they wouldn't have been eligible for the game they just played.
