FA Cup R3 - Port Vale (H) - Sat 04/01 - 5:31pm

I have two tickets but am seriously considering giving it a swerve.

Seriously pissed off now with the trials of attending games, evening or not.

How can it be that someone who lives less than 12 miles away, had to fork out £50 plus to get to and from the Everton game with my kids in tow?

Decided to leave the car at home, and use the Metro.

Took us 1hr 15mins from Timperley, including a 20-minute wait in Picadilly Gardens.

Stayed until the end, decided to get a bus across the road back into town and catch a tram from there.

Five guys old enough to know better (three blues and two Everton fans) decided to get in to it over politics and Brexit, becoming very threatening towards each other and using every foul-mouthed profanity in the book.

At this stage, with my eight year old girl at a game for the first time in a couple of years, I told them to quit it and be mindful of my wife and kids sat across from them.

Sadly, it was the dickhead 50-something Blue who continued to cause shit, fearful my family would get caught in the crossfire.

To make matters worse, every tram at Picadilly was rammed, including the pathetic single to Alty which would at least have prevented us changing at Cornbrook.

Freezing and late, we had no option but to jump in a taxi with £10 on the meter before we even set off.

Taxi - 37.50
Metro family ticket - £7.10
Bus special - £7.00

It seems car or public transport, this council couldn't give a shit how people manage to move around this city.
Are you blaming the City council for the behaviour of a few dickheads?

I suppose they could place council officials on all public transport to keep a check on this.

Try travelling from Edinburgh and being at the mercy of Northern Rail and TransPennineExpress!

I know what you mean. Have had similar experiences on the tram in from Ashton, and gotta be honest, my kids were none too happy. Have also tried using the Altrincham tram too, but like you say, since they bizarrely abandoned the direct double tram to t the ground it’s a real long winded escapade, esp on the return, when we often end up walking to Piccadilly and trying to get a tram from there.
Actually wondering about an Uber from/to East Didsbury station for Saturday, then driving from there. Wouldn’t do it if I was on my own, but with a group of us it might be worthwhile

Not the best and I know driving is grim but you could of paid £8 and parked 100yards away from the ground in secure parking.

I feel your pain mate, but I travel from Cornwall, and it’s a 600+Mile round trip for me, sometimes 7+ hours dependent on comedy traffic.

Looking forward to this game. Eldest daughter (18) usually works shifts but is able to come along.

Should see a few goals.

A few seats left together in block 302 but other than that looks like just single seats left now.

500 singles available in Level 1.

I am not sure whether that's it, or whether there are more singles left in L2 and L3.

I think it will sell out today or on match-day (assuming City can sell tickets on the day?)

Team: Eddie, Rodders, Ferny, Walker, Gundog, SilvaD, SilvaB, Foden, Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez. Hatricks for Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez and a pen from Eddie!

Pretty sure Ederson will be on a mid season break still and not even on the bench. Back for United.
