FA Cup R3 | Salford City (H) | Sat 11 Jan 1745

Everton is another fixture for telly watchers all over the world.

A 12.30 kick off on Boxing Day has not been arranged for the benefit of fans that actually attend games and I’ve no doubt that loads of season ticket holders will be returning their tickets to the club for a guaranteed refund and they will be watching it on the telly.
Should never use that “club” exchange. All you need to do is transfer it to anyone on your friends and family then use the emailed download to wallet mail they get tell them to forward it back to you then sell or give it to any blue you know

The prices for Everton are way over the top. Just checked with a Mum and lad who I had ordered tickets through the OSC for the Everton game. I messaged them too offer free travel because I knew the tickets were very expensive. I’m not sure how much the tickets were but an adult and over 18 (usually South Stand L3) were probably over £100. They don’t buy them and I’m not surprised. It will affect our future allocations but if people can’t afford the tickets what choice do they have.

On a separate point, the guaranteed pay out return to the Ticket Exchange was a clanger. I know fans reps like to recommend this sort of thing.

You are very big hearted, the club don’t deserve it, you are doing the work the club should be doing

Possibly because the Everton games is one of 19 PL games and sits in the PL pricing structure, while Salford is in a competition where we could face anyone from Arse or dippers down to a non-league team.

All those families who turn up v Salford, they are our future, it would be good to see them all of the time, if local families are priced out and we have a 61000 seater stadium next year we are doing something wrong

Ticket prices for that game should be much much cheaper because a lot of out of town Blues aren’t going to be able to get there (no trains on Boxing Day, still too pissed to drive after Christmas Day) so locals, especially local families, should have been able to get tickets for reasonable prices.

Yet it’s something daft like £230 for two adults and two children. And good luck being sat anywhere near each other.

Our future support are us lot until we get priced out or die, and daytrippers.

Unless we become shit, when our future support will be us lot until we get priced out or die, and a load of disillusioned locals who have been priced out and not been able to access tickets for years for most games and got used to doing something else with their weekends.

Local families are not important to the business model. It’s all about getting fans with money to spend from every corner of the earth to come to Manchester and watch games. They fill the hotels, pubs, restaurants and spend their money in various stores including the City store at The Etihad. Local families don’t do these things. Bus and tram fares to and from the ground contribute nothing to Manchesters booming economy.

Very true, but the people making the decisions are not interested in our long-term future in the stands. Gate receipts are a relatively small percentage of income and milking tourists appears to be easy money.
If we continue to struggle on the pitch then there will be a bit of a drop off this season and a noticeable drop off next season. Pricing for the new seats, and the ground as a whole if they want people to migrate to NS2, will be crucial if they want to continue selling out. - I envisage some very cheap European tickets if we're in either of the Thursday Leagues next season.
