FA Cup SF Draw | Nott'm Forest | Sun 27 April 16:30 | ITV1

True. But some people seem to be revelling in telling everyone how much they hate our club. It’s not compulsory to be a City supporter. The negativity from some of our fans is pathetic. They are doing the media’s job for them. The enemies of our club have spent years trying to undermine and divide our fanbase. Relentless press briefings and media attacks. The tactic seems to have worked with some people. We need to stick together. If you hate the club stay away.
I know what your saying about 'some people revelling in telling everyone how much they hate our club'.
I admit I got carried away, at first, by the so called leak about playing in orange in America. After reading other more sensible posts I realised my folly.
I think that is different from posters saying they are pissed off with the k.o. time, the day, the expense etc etc.
I laugh at the suggestions that you are not a true fan if you don't go which this thread is full of.

My first memories of City were of Tony Coleman running along the left wing in front of the main stand towards the scoreboard end. He was certainly a character and it would be nice if more information could be found. Is he still in Australia?

He made a big impact for a relatively short stay.
I would have to say he was a probably a bigger balloon than Balotelli. That is a big statement I know.
If he has written an autobiography it would be worth a read.
He will be getting on a bit now. Made Stan Bowles look like a Saint.

Loved Stan Bowles too. Lived near me when I was a kid in New Moston. I thought he was a much better player than Rodney Marsh. Criminally under used by England, as indeed were so many other talented players.

I was Victoria ave East, and loved watching Stan at QPR.
I got to know him as drank in the same Pub in Whitefield. Liked a pint and so did(do) I.

The whole country is negative at the moment (for good reasons) but, for me, football is one of the few positive things happening. I understand why people need to vent sometimes. I have my own "Victor Meldrew" moments. But I think negativity has got out of control this season. Our commercial rivals have employed PR people to try and attack our club to deflect from their own incompetence. They have been trying to drive a wedge between our club and our fans for years with their "Arab oil money" narrative. It looks like their tactics have started to work. The fans need to stick together and get behind the team....starting tonight.

Not really, shall we say, dedicated to the sport. I have a book on him but not had chance to read it yet. I know his basic back story but will be interested to read another angle. I'm sure a few FOC on here can add things about him. Chappie?

Going on the rattler £220 quid for the pair of us and that's with a Railcard , probably 50 quid on beer and food :(
Train prices are a fucking scandalous cost in this country, trains for the semi would be £110 for me - with a railcard - it’s equal with the late kickoff time as to why I’m not going on Sunday

How on earth is Wembley for the final so much dearer than Southampton?
I know the price of tickets, the price of refreshments and the price of fuel. I just don't see how some people are getting the overall cost of the day to be so high.
Some people like to stay over. Hotel £150-£200, train £100, tickets £100ish, food and drink £100. I’ll probably spend about £100 for day on Sunday but others like to do it differently.

I believe some of our fanbase have allowed themselves to be manipulated by the media (mainstream and social). Constructive criticism is fine by me but I have no time for attention-seeking virtue signalling. They are playing into the hands of our enemies. I don't like all the "racist tourist fan" comments either. Anyone who truly supports City is fine as far as I am concerned.

You need to use split tickets. It is the only way to use the trains. The most I have have paid for London from near Preston this season was £64 return with a rail card and the cheapest was £37. You can get a cheap ticket to Crewe or Brum. Lots of cheap tickets from there to London. You have to book early of course. You can also use the Chilterns Line from Brum direct to Wembley Stadium. It only takes an hour longer than Avanti. EDIT: Just checked. You can still get a return train from Manchester to Brum then Brum direct to Wembley Stadium (200 yards from the City fans' entrance) and back on Sunday night (even with extra time) for £59 (with railcard) and £73 (without card). That would have been much cheaper a few weeks ago.

Correct , not staying over purely trave,l food, drinks and tickets (over 200 quid for the pair of us on the train)
I was going to mention that if you're going by train you'll get your arse handed to you. Robbing fuckers.
