Who do you want in the Semi Final?

Personally cannot afford to go.

Shame too as I’m a massive blue!
Unfortunately Deano, a lot of top blues I know can't afford it. Pure greed from the FA milking fans for all they're worth. It's disgusting. I stopped going to semi finals after the Arsenal defeat out of principle. That game cost me and my daughter over 300 quid for the day out..And it WASN'T even the fucking final! Then on top of that the trains are are fucking disgrace.

I reckon this delay is down to the TV companies wanting the Saturday game to be at 5.30pm. As this is going to be between two teams from the North there's going to be a lot of grief from fans regarding transport issues.
The FA cocked up last year when they scheduled the semi finals for a weekend when there were no trains to London on the West Coast Line. Something they'd been told about months before. The FA backed down a little and scheduled the match for 3.30pm.
So we all know they could play the match at a time on the Saturday that would suit both sets of travelling fans. However the TV companies will want a time that's best for them. They would probably want a 7.45pm kick off.
The question is have the FA got the balls to stand up to the TV companies?
You would have thought that kick off times would be agreed when the contract was first signed. Yes there would have to be some leeway, if City got the rags the police might push for a 12.30 k.o. but in general, times and dates should be sorted at the start..... but that relies on the fa being competent.

Clubs and the FA take hundreds of millions of pounds from TV companies. TV companies tell clubs when they are playing. It's that simple.

I think they are - 5.30pm for Saturday and 4.30pm for Sunday. Last years semi final between us and the dippers opened up scrutiny on these timings if it involves Northern teams.

100% agree with all of this. And if you want to get more specific in terms of who to blame, go for ITV rather than the more generic ‘TV companies’.
BBC has first pick for the SF so presumably has chosen the rags v Brighton game. I’m sure we’d begrudgingly agree that it’s the better choice for the neutrals on this occasion! It will be ITV that’s acting the fool over the Saturday timings.
In this particular case you maybe right but the BBC are no different.
For example the final was moved to a 5.30pm KO when ITV had the contract because it worked better for them commercially. When the BBC got it back they didn't move the KO time back to the traditional 3pm, even though they have absolutely no commercial pressure on them

Yes, think that was the Sterling one. Bent bastards! The Brighton one was after, before the Watford final. Owed Trafford would be perfect, but it's never gonna happen with those greedy twats.

I know we all know that we are the Saturday game but you'd have thought they would have at least confirmed the day by now with a statement saying the times are to be confirmed.
