Who do you want in the Semi Final?

Not everyone wants to drive and not everyone wants to spend the best part of 5 hours on a Megabus, leaving London at 11pm and arriving home at 4am or later. As it happens, I'm looking at Megabus as a possible option due to the extortionate train prices but I certainly won't be looking forward to the journey home if I do end up booking it.
Don’t get me wrong mate I’d sooner travel down in a private copter, the megabus isn’t much fun but we’ve probably all travelled on worse. This isn’t aimed at you but I find all the bleating from those who want to travel by train really disingenuous as they always add the “they don’t care about the fans” line. What they mean is “ they don’t care about me”

The fact is that there are far more fans who travel down by coach and minibus and car who would rather have a 1730 kick off as it gives them more time to get on the ale properly than there are fans who travel by train and who are fretting about the last train home. So on that basis late kick off times are considerate to the majority of fans.

Teatime kick offs in London are only ok for those that are staying over. For the rest of us they are usually a ballache.

At the end of the day the actual match going fan counts for nothing.

The TV comapanies and the FA don't give a shit about the cost and logistics involved, they will keep milking the product until it keels over and dies.

Last train back to Manchester is at 21:01.

A 5:15 kick off would finish at 7:10 and you would probably make that train.

If it went to extra time and penalties the game would probably end round about 8:10 and you would be pushing it.
And how many will be going for that last train if there is extra time. H&S goes out the window when thousands are rammed in.

Wow, Axel, you really think those travelling by coach want a 5.30 kick off. 8.30pm finish if you watch the presentation after extra time so 9.30pm before you're leaving the coach Park (if you're lucky) 5 hours minimum drive home bearing in mind the obligatory stop, back in Manchester 2am. Seriously ?
Those wanting to get the train aren't being selfish as you say. They are just fed up of being treated like sewage.

Mega bus is a good cheap option if you are stuck for cheap options.
7.30 from Manchester arrives 13.20 Victoria.
23.00 Victoria arrives Manchester 06.00.
Book outside seats and just over £20.
No hotels to bother with,no rushing back after game a few beers before and after.
A lot worse options.

You are getting treated like sewage with the train as well.
Let's not kid ourselves that the train,my preferred option is a joke getting back to Manchester for overcrowding and comfort. The price you pay for a shocking service is a disgrace.
The bus not ideal but at least you are guaranteed the seat you book.

Article on how hotel prices have already zoomed up ahead of the game.

They have gone up since before COVID anyway. I would normally book in one of the Boremwood ones when better located ones were too expensive, £40 last time, £110 now, and the £40 was after semi dates being confirmed. I just wait to see if I have a lift now, there is no utility in the hotels at the prices since 2021/22.
