I've just got a ticket each for me and my younger brother in block 108, combined price of £120, I've paid for both tickets and he is driving us down in his Range-Rover Velar ,and he is paying for all the fuel.
And his son(my nephew obviously) has a newly renovated and extended house in West Acton, so we are staying there on Saturday night and going out for a few celebratory beers(fingers crossed).
any room in the Range?

There is a ticket points unfairness. We were bringing up five kids in the 80s, 90s and noughties - so season tickets weren't always feasible/affordable. But for a few years pre-Etihad we had season tickets (my sons took turns) on and off (the relegation years). However, we've had seasoncards every year at the Etihad. I have 12,990 points - always in two cup schemes and moved from the North to the East Stand two years ago. My mate has been a season ticket holder since the 1960s - when his dad used to take him. He has a seasoncard in the East Stand - never been in the cup schemes. His points total is 6,990. That's a ridiculously low points total for someone who's been a season ticket holder for about 55 years. He has to wait until 3 April to buy a ticket. Crazy.
It is not really if he never stepped into an away ground

Points were awarded for going away matches plus he would not have got any cup scheme points. To moan about not getting cup tickets and then not be in the cup scheme baffles me, we are guaranteed to reach the final rounds of most cups

Most people who went from Maine Road to Etihad had the same points if memory serves

This points topic pops up every year

I have 13k points and have not missed a game through lack of a a ticket for years, there are ways around getting tickets

However, what makes me laugh is when Soton away goes down to the lowest points required all season and suddenly those moaning are shopping with the wife

Bang on

I have been going years longer than my brother

I have to pay for 4 St wife and kids, pay for gold ST

Brother pays for 1 and pays platinum

Brother has more points!!!!
It's a joke isn't it. Should it not just be as simple as whoever attends more games is more loyal?

Been taking my lad for about 15 years now, in which he's accumulated 4,000 points cause I can't afford to put him on platinum or on the scheme.

My mate's lad got a ST 4 seasons ago and is already on more points than my lad.

Even getting a ST comes down to affordability, and those who can't.

Most who can't afford the cup schemes will go to Wembley, so there is always economics and choice in play.

I find it funny how you get a load of points for joining the schemes, however you'll get nothing for doing Southampton, Munich and Wembley within the space of 2 weeks. I'd personally describe that as being loyal

Harry’s mate can have his choice of thousands of seats for Wembley on Monday anyway, so not sure what the specific issue is here?

That’s because apparently nearly all the top points people only ever went to Old Trafford and Anfield and flogged their tickets for every other game.

Never got round to quite understanding how they ever got to have so many points but I’m sure they did it without bothering going to many games somehow.

It’s a tricky one init, in fairness to City you can’t please all of the people all of the time and the current system is probably the least worse option.

I do feel for long standing fans like @HarrytheBlue though. It’s galling when you hear about true blues being unable to get tickets for games and then you see people at the match who are clearly disinterested in what’s going on - taking endless selfies or otherwise pissing about on their phones for most of the afternoon.
Uninterested
