City’s first FA Youth Cup victory 39 years ago today, made sweeter by being against the rags.

We did.
The lads paraded the trophy.
Redmond, Hinchcliffe and Moulden were absent as in China with England youth team

Bernard Halford admitted at the reunion of the players in 2013 that 28,000 were there

Just looked up John Bookbinder and I was surprised to see not only did he die in 2006 ( almost 20 years ago),but even more surprising is the fact that he was the brother of Susan Bookbinder,the well known broadcaster .

What a team that was, they looked like they could beat anyone that night. never forget the red twats throwing cans of beer at our boys as they did their lap of honour.

I was only really interested in the progress/career of David White at that particular time.
Mainly because I had a business relationship with his father Stuart, who ran a scrap metal/waste disposal business known as H.Wood ( Patricroft)Ltd.
I sold him a couple of skiploader trucks in 1984 and he knew I was a City fan,so kept me informed of his football playing son, and his career playing for City.
