FA Youth Cup winners: 2-1 win v rags, match thread / Thurs 14th May 2026

It’s weird here. The City crowd is generally family oriented, normal pleasant folk. A lot of FOC’s (me included). The rag end seems to be all wannabe gangsters dressed in black, not a family to be seen, obsessed with City. I guess that’s what comes with this being a major trophy for these. Cunts

Baffling isn’t it? It’s like they think they’re mint because they’ve shown up in numbers to be nuisances at a youth game.

Weird, weird cunts.

All first half I was thinking it was Theo Walcott on commentary…doesn’t half sound like him

I don’t think you can accuse Peel of that.
Are you serious?

You need to read about it, there is a reason the John Peel stage at Glastonbury was renamed.

Here is a snippet

John Peel, the influential BBC Radio 1 DJ, faced posthumous controversy regarding his historical sexual relationships with underage girls and his 1965 marriage to a 15-year-old. While initially celebrated, campaigners have pushed for the removal of his name from festival stages and BBC buildings, arguing that his own admissions show abuse rather than simply affairs.
Key Aspects of the Controversy
  • Marriage to a 15-year-old: In 1965, at age 25, Peel married 15-year-old Shirley Anne Milburn in Texas, which was legal there at the time. Peel later claimed her parents lied about her age.
  • Admitted Sexual Conduct: In a 1989 interview, Peel stated: "Girls used to queue up outside... One of my, er, regular customers, as it were, turned out to be 13, though she looked older," and, "Well, of course, I didn't ask for ID".
  • Accusations by Others: In 2012, Jane Nevin reported a 1969 relationship with Peel when she was 15, describing it as a "traumatic" experience and a "different era" where she felt "perhaps manipulated".
